🇯🇵 #japantravel #japantraveltips #japonviaje #japantravelguide

How to ask for the bill in Japan — and why nobody is coming to your table. Save this before your trip. You finish your meal. You wait. Nothing happens. In most Japanese restaurants you don't pay at the table — you pay at the register by the door. There's often a slip already sitting on your table: take it with you. No slip? Two words: o-kaikei onegai shimasu (oh-kye-kay oh-neh-guy shee-mahs) — "the check, please." In a loud izakaya you can just cross your two index fingers. In a quiet, upscale place, use the words instead. And if there was a ticket machine by the door — you already paid. Where did you pay? At the table? A machine? Japan is easy to travel—but some rules are never written down. 🇯🇵 Before your trip, remember: 🚻 Leave toilet slippers inside the restroom 🏠 Take off your slippers before stepping on tatami 🍽️ Wait at the entrance to be seated 🥢 Never pass food from chopsticks to chopsticks 🍚 Never leave chopsticks standing in rice ♨️ Keep your towel out of the onsen water 🚕 Let the driver operate the taxi door 🧻 Use the oshibori for your hands 🍺 Otoshi is a small appetizer added to your bill The two chopstick rules are especially important because they resemble Japanese funeral customs—something locals may not explain, but will definitely notice. Save this before your trip and travel Japan like a local! Which rule surprised you the most? 👇 Follow @omotel_japan_travel for practical Japan travel tips. 🌸 #JapanTravel #JapanTravelTips #VisitJapan #JapanEtiquette #JapanCulture
TIPS hemat $$$ kalau liburan ke Jepang 🇯🇵💸 SAVE THIS!! Aku book semuanya lewat Klook sebelum berangkat, jadi pas sampai Jepang tinggal jalan 🇯🇵🫶🏻 Kamu juga bisa pakai kode promo KLOOKJESSELYN buat diskon up to 8% SAVE buat next Japan trip kalian! ✈️ @klook.id #klookid #klookkreator #Kansai #JapanTravel #Osaka #Kyoto #UniversalStudiosJapan #JapanTravelTips
Don’t ruin Japan in 2026: dates to plan carefully 🇯🇵 . ✳️ Golden Week | 29 Apr–6 May Busiest time of year. Trains sell out, prices spike. (rather annoyingly, as a general rule - shinkansen tickets can only be booked one month in advance, but do check!) 👉 Book early, travel very early/late, stay outside city centres. . 🌧️ Rainy Season | June Humid, on-and-off rain. 👉 Focus on cities, museums, food, onsens. Pack light layers. ☀️ Summer | Jul–Aug Hot and sticky, especially in cities. 👉 Sightsee mornings/evenings, head north or to the mountains. . 🍂 Silver Week | 19–23 Sept Short but busy domestic travel period. 👉 Avoid Kyoto/Tokyo day trips, travel mid-week, slow down. . 🧧 Chinese New Year | ~17 Feb Not a Japan holiday, but travel surges. 👉 Cities + ski resorts (Hokkaido, Nagano) get busy. Book ahead. . Already booked? Don’t cancel just plan smarter. Save this if Japan 2026 is on your list ✈️ . Hi I’m Carmen a tv host and travel business owner, who lived in Tokyo for 8 years. Flying to Japan soon? 🇯🇵 Here are 5 things I’d do before leaving Australia: 1. Complete Visit Japan Web
Register your arrival details before your trip to make the immigration and customs process easier when you land. 2. Sort out internet access
Organise an eSIM, SIM or pocket Wi-Fi so you’re connected when you arrive. 3. Download your essential apps
Google Maps and Google Translate are two I’d definitely have ready to go. 4. Save copies of your important documents
Keep digital copies of your passport, travel insurance, bookings and important confirmations somewhere you can easily access. 5. Double-check your first-day plan
Know how you’re getting from the airport to your accommodation, your hotel address and your check-in time. Then you can get on the plane knowing the important stuff is sorted ✈️🇯🇵 Want my full Japan Planning Checklist? Comment CHECKLIST and I’ll send it to you for FREE.
