Join us tomorrow evening from 6-8pm in our Marylebone Gallery for the opening of “UNNATURAL”, a solo presentation of new works by sculptor Joe Rush.
Founder of Mutoid Waste Company and a longstanding presence at Glastonbury Festival, Rush has spent over four decades building large-scale environments and mechanical creatures from scrap metal, engines and discarded machinery.
This series presents an imagined world of hybrid forms. Half machine, half animal, the sculptures merge organic anatomy with industrial materials, suggesting an evolution redirected by human industry.

Interview with James Haywood at Maison&Objet 2026
James Haywood is a Franco-British artist and designer whose work moves between contemporary sculpture, experimental design, and material research. Born in 1991 and based near Montpellier, France, he was originally trained in aerospace engineering. This scientific background strongly informs his artistic practice, leading him to explore the structural possibilities of alternative mineral materials, including experimental forms of concrete and natural mineral resin. Through carefully crafted sculptures—often produced as unique pieces—Haywood investigates the relationship between matter, form, and the cosmic landscapes that inspire his imagination.
Working as both an experimenter and craftsman, he develops his pieces entirely within his own studio, from early sketches and material tests to mould-making, casting, finishing, electronics, and documentation. His work reflects a slow and thoughtful process in which forms evolve gradually through repetition and refinement, inviting viewers to reflect on humanity’s place within the vast universe.
This conversation with #JamesHaywood was recorded in Paris during Maison&Objet January 2026, produced by Kasra Aliha and filmed under the direction of cinematographer Behnoud Masoumi.
