KALEO (@officialkaleo) released a new song today, and I had the honor of creating the official music video. The song's name is Sofðu Unga Ástin Mín, a new take on an old Icelandic folk song. Here is a small part from the video 🎥 Today is the National Day of Iceland, and this year marks 80 years since Iceland officially gained its independence. @julius_son reached out to me with the idea of creating a video that showcases the majestic beauty of Iceland’s nature, celebrating our country in a way that inspires everyone. Check out the full song on KALEO’s YouTube channel, and make sure to watch on a big screen in 4K! 🇮🇸

In 2023, Joel Marques Cunha stepped onto The Voice Germany stage with a haunting rendition of KALEO’s Way Down We Go. From the first note, his tone carried the same gravelly depth that made the original famous, filling the room with a slow-burning intensity that felt larger than the stage itself. The performance quickly turned into one of the night’s most tense moments. As chairs turned and coaches fought for control, a last-second block changed the dynamic — leaving visible frustration on the panel and turning a blind audition into a strategic standoff. The drama only amplified how strong the vocal actually was. What makes the clip memorable isn’t just the coaching conflict, but how effortlessly Joel carried the song. Matching the weight of a track this iconic is rare; making it feel natural is rarer. Original song: Way Down We Go Artist: KALEO Show: The Voice Germany (2023) #TheVoice #BlindAudition #WayDownWeGo #KALEO #TheVoiceGermany

This song is a masterpiece 🔥 “I Can’t Go On Without You” by KALEO is one of the songs that speaks for itself. The track was published in the group’s studio album ‘A/B’ (2016). What distinguishes the track from others is the gradual increase in tension, resulting in a magnificent explosion of energy after an inevitable vocal breakthrough. As for the lyrics of the song, they are based on emotions related to deep dependence, loss, and helplessness. In addition, there is a strong feeling of fear of emptiness, since the loved one person became a significant part of the speaker’s personality. All emotions are expressed subtly and delicately, which emphasizes the importance of a specific atmosphere. #kaleo #folk #folkmusic
