Fast food with a playground hits different when you have little kids! I broke down the ones worth knowing about in the Cedar Park and Austin area because they are genuinely not all the same experience. Burger King has a playground and it’s a solid option when you need somewhere to land. The one pictured is Georgetown Chick-fil-A — most locations around here have an indoor playground which is honestly a lifesaver on hot days or when it’s raining. The kids can play, you can eat your sandwich in peace, it’s a win. McDonald’s has indoor playgrounds at most locations too, same idea — climate controlled, contained, the kids are happy. But here’s the one people don’t know about. There is one McDonald’s near Austin that still has an outdoor playground and it is the only one we have been able to find in the area. If your kids are the type that need actual outside time with their Happy Meal, this is the one to bookmark. Saving this for every parent who has driven around with hungry kids trying to remember which ones have playgrounds.

One McDonald’s near Austin still has an outdoor playground. ONE. We found it, we stayed way too long, and we are absolutely going back. My kids had never experienced the outdoor McDonald’s playground era and honestly that felt like a parenting miss I needed to fix immediately. If you grew up climbing those play structures and eating nuggets outside in the summer, you already know. Take your kids. Watch them fall in love with something you forgot you missed. Honestly this reminded me so much of childhood 🥹 I saw @funthingstodowithkidz post that the McDonald’s in Norwood still has an indoor play place (which feels rare these days) and it ended up being the perfect little afternoon activity. The whole meal was under $20, we were in and out quickly, no one cared that my kids were loud, and the second they finished eating they ran right over to the play place. Not one of those huge chaotic indoor playgrounds… just simple climbing fun that kept them happy while I enjoyed a crispy Diet Coke and a McFlurry. Honestly… we’ll definitely be back. 🍟🥤

There is so much free and cheap fun waiting for you and your kids at @oakparkmall! ‼️ Follow @kc.mom.adventures for more free and cheap fun in Kansas City! 🏃 Get to the mall before the stores open you can walk and run around. 🎠 The carousel is an affordable option during your visit. $6 for 1 ride, $10 for 2 rides 🧱 The @lego Store has a table with tons of Legos to play with. 🚶‍♂️ Take your kids up and down the escalator. 🏎️ Browse the @hotwheelsofficial vending machine. If you want to purchase one, they start around $5 per car. 🕹️ Our kids had plenty of fun pretending to play the arcade games without actually paying for them. 📸 They loved pretending to take pictures in the photo booth too. Between these activities and browsing a few stores, we spent almost 2 hours at the mall and had plenty of fun without spending a lot of money! 📍 11149 W 95th St, Overland Park, KS 66214
