This is the 1993 Konica Hexar, fitted with an autofocus 35mm f2 lens renowned for its sharpness and rich color. Usually referred to today as the Hexar AF, this camera has a rangefinder-style layout but has only basic manual focus ability. Instead the Hexar is more like a big Contax T2, with a larger and brighter viewfinder and manual control of aperture via a dial surrounding the shutter release. The finder shows the parallax-corrected view of the 35mm f2 Hexar lens, which has a Xenotar-type optical formula with 7 elements in 6 groups. Some sources say this lens based on the famous 35mm f1.8 W-Nikkor rangefinder lens from the 1950s, and its rendering is often compared with the Leica 35mm f2 Summicron Version 4 “King of Bokeh.” In our test on Kodak Ultramax the Hexar’s lens shows great resolution and saturation, and we like having the physical control dial to adjust the aperture manually. One limitation when shooting with this camera is the Hexar’s unusually slow 1/250th maximum shutter speed, which put Ultramax’s highlight retention to the test in daylight. Overall we really enjoy shooting with the Hexar AF, but we do wish that the shutter speed was displayed in the finder instead of on the top plate, and that the contrast of the frame lines was a bit stronger. Let us know what you think of the sample images in the comments below, we’d love to hear from you all. And look, we didn’t even mention the “Stealth Mode…” #konica #konicahexar #konicahexaraf #film #analog #filmcamera #shootfilm #kodak #ultramax400 #kodakultramax #spring #blossom #cherry #magnolia #leica #filmcommunity #35mm #filmisnotdead #ishootfilm

The incredible Konica Hexar AF. What dreams are made of! This camera has an extraordinary 35mm f/2 fixed lens, it feels great in the hands and is possibly the quietest film camera ever made. • • • #35mm #grainisgood #madewithkodak #the35mmdiary #filmlifemagazine #filmwave #analogphotography #analoguecollective #focuspocuslab #konicahexaraf

Now that I’m back in Brooklyn I figured I probably need to finish posting these lol. The digitals are coming on Tuesday and they’re everything 😩🖤 I’m going to open up just 2 bookings while I’m in NYC if any models would like to work with me while I’m here. I like to focus on quality over quantity and want to make sure we get that q u a l i t y for your portfolio so if you’re serious about your book shoot me a dm✨ Also also does anyone know why the last shots went green like that? A happy mistake bc I would literally never edit that way but that’s what make it pretty cool. 🖤 #nycphotographer #brooklynphotographer #williamsburgphotographer #manhattanphotographer #konicahexaraf #harmanphoenix200
