विसर्प (Meander) – नदी का साँप जैसी आकृति में मुड़ते हुए बहना।
गोखुर झील (Oxbow Lake) – विसर्प का कटकर अलग हो जाने से बनी अर्धचंद्राकार झील।
डेल्टा (Delta) – नदी के मुहाने पर गाद के जमाव से बनने वाला त्रिकोणीय मैदान।
ज्वारनदमुख (Estuary) – नदी का चौड़ा मुहाना जहाँ नदी समुद्र में मिलती है और ज्वार-भाटा का प्रभाव रहता है।
बाढ़ का मैदान (Flood Plain) – नदी के किनारे बाढ़ से बनने वाला उपजाऊ समतल क्षेत्र।
प्राकृतिक तटबंध (Natural Levee) – बाढ़ के दौरान गाद जमने से नदी किनारे बनी ऊँची पट्टी।
वितरिकाएँ (Distributaries) – डेल्टा क्षेत्र में मुख्य नदी से निकलने वाली शाखाएँ।
जलप्रपात (Waterfall) – नदी का ऊँचाई से नीचे गिरना।
गॉर्ज/कंदरा (Gorge) – नदी द्वारा काटी गई गहरी और संकरी घाटी।
V-आकार की घाटी (V-shaped Valley) – ऊपरी प्रवाह में नदी के कटाव से बनने वाली घाटी।
नदी वेदिका (River Terrace) – पुराने बाढ़ मैदान के ऊँचे अवशेष।

🌍 TYPES OF LANDFORMS
Landforms are natural features that shape Earth’s surface. They are formed by geological processes such as tectonic activity, erosion, weathering, and sediment deposition.
⛰️ Mountain — A high, steep landform, often with a prominent peak.
🌿 Hill — A raised area of land, generally lower and less steep than a mountain.
🌾 Plain — A broad area of relatively flat or gently rolling land.
🏞️ Plateau — An elevated area of land with a relatively flat top.
🏔️ Valley — A low area between hills or mountains, often containing a river.
🪨 Canyon — A deep, narrow valley with steep walls, commonly carved by a river.
🏜️ Desert — A very dry region that receives little precipitation.
🌊 Cliff — A steep or nearly vertical rock face, found along coasts or inland areas.
🏝️ Island — Land completely surrounded by water.
🌎 Peninsula — Land almost completely surrounded by water but connected to the mainland.
🏖️ Beach — A shore covered mainly by sand, gravel, or other sediments.
🪨 Natural Arch — A rock formation with a natural opening created mainly by erosion.

MOUNTAINS & HIGHLANDS: 9 AMAZING LANDFORMS
Mountains are not just tall peaks. They contain many different landforms, each created by powerful natural processes such as erosion, volcanic activity, glaciers and flowing water.
Peak is the highest point of a mountain. A Cliff is a steep rock face, while a Valley is a low area between mountains, often shaped by rivers or glaciers.
A Mesa is a high, flat-topped landform with steep sides. A Crater is a bowl-shaped depression commonly associated with volcanic activity. A Pass is a lower route through mountains that allows people and roads to cross them.
A Glacier is a large mass of slowly moving ice that can carve valleys and reshape mountains. A Plateau is an elevated area with a relatively flat top, while a Butte is a smaller, steep-sided isolated landform with a flat or nearly flat summit.
Together, these landforms show how Earth's surface is constantly shaped by ice, water, wind, tectonic forces and volcanic activity.

Volcanic Landforms
Volcanoes create far more than simple cones. The shape of a volcanic landscape records how magma rises, erupts, cools, and interacts with the surrounding crust and surface environment.
Lava viscosity, magma composition, gas content, eruption style, and repeated collapse can produce dramatically different landforms—from craters and lava domes to calderas, maars, volcanic plateaus, and composite volcanoes.
These features are geological fingerprints, allowing volcanologists to reconstruct past eruptions and understand how volcanic landscapes evolve through time.
