Reposted • @a.j.press On Land Day, Palestinian farmers hold firmly to their land near the buffer zone, plowing and replanting it despite harsh conditions and scarce resources. With simple tools and unwavering determination, they sow hope into soil exhausted by aggression, affirming that the land endures and its people remain. Here, the resilient spirit of the Palestinian is drawn.
Land Day was never just a commemoration. It was never just a day to mark protest of Zionist land theft. It was a promise that Palestinians, from the Galilee to Gaza, from the West Bank to the lands occupied in1948, from the refugee camps in Lebanon and Jordan, to us here in the far diaspora, will remain on and return to our land. But what the Zionists and the Americans have failed to understand, what they continue to fail to understand to this day, is that our people and the people of the region know our land, even when it is buried under piles of rubble and heaps of dust. And the sacrifice of the millions of Arabs, the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, the billions of colonized people across history reminds us that from the depths of the land, our people will continue to rise and continue to resist, no matter the cost. Join us this weekend April 3-5 at the Documenting Genocide Exhibit to learn more on why we must remember what has been destroyed, and understand our role in the fight for our people and our land. 📅 April 3 - 5 📍Chocolate Factory Theater, 38-33 24th St, Astoria, NY 11101 RSVP: bit.ly/gazaexhibit
Posted by @palestinian.pr1ncess Yom Al-Ard, Land Day. We belong to every olive, on every branch, on every single tree. They destroyed our villages, our lands, our people, but they can never destroy our connection to it. For every martyr, every refugee, every person resisting. We will return, and we will rebuild.
✍️📸trtworld: “ Fifty years ago today, Israeli forces killed six unarmed Palestinians protesting the mass expropriation of their ancestral land in the Galilee. Halt a century later, the core struggle of Land Day remains unchanged as systemic Israeli land theft and displacement continues relentlessly. As Palestinians mark the 50th anniversary of Land Day, record Israeli military and settlement expansion now swallows over 40 percent of the occupied West Bank.”
Yesterday marks the Land Day of Palestine, referring to a protest happened on March 30, 1976, when Palestinians of 1948 protested against land confiscation of Galilee. This action has never been stopped, today the West Bank has been in the process of being annexed, thousands of lands have been stolen since October 2023 and still going 💔
Perhaps you haven't heard of "Land Day" before. On March 30, 1976, the occupation authorities decided to confiscate 21,000 dunams of Palestinian land in the Galilee. The people went on a general strike, and the response was live ammunition. Six Palestinians were martyred, including a child only 15 years old. That day became a symbol that the land is not just soil, but dignity and identity. --- On March 30 of each year, Palestinians everywhere commemorate "Land Day." It is not just a date on the calendar, but the memory of six martyrs who fell in 1976 in the Galilee because they refused to have their land taken from them. They were killed because they said, "This land is ours." Today, 50 years later, the land is still being stolen, and Palestinians are still saying the same words. --- Share this post so the world knows. #LandDay #Palestine #March30 #SavePalestinianLand #PalestinianMemory
