On parle souvent du chef. Du propriétaire. Du nom sur la porte. Mais une entreprise, ce n’est jamais une personne. C’est une équipe. Et dans la mienne, les femmes occupent une place immense. Quand je pense à la Journée internationale du droit des femmes, je pense au quotidien. À la réalité du terrain. Elles sont en cuisine, en salle, en gestion. Elles ont du caractère, du talent, une sensibilité incroyable. Elles gardent le cap quand la pression monte. Elles élèvent le niveau, elles challengent, elles rassemblent. Et surtout, elles donnent une âme à nos restos et entreprises. Les femmes avec qui je travaille, ce sont mes collègues, mes piliers, mes amies. Elles sont extraordinaires et réellement indispensables. Tout au long de ma carrière, elles ont façonné nos restaurants autant que moi. Par leurs idées, leurs décisions, leurs intuitions. Par leur manière de prendre soin des clients, et de prendre soin les unes des autres. Sans elles, nos établissements n’auraient pas le même succès. Sans elles, je n’aurais pas appris autant. Sans elles, je ne serais tout simplement pas rendu ici. Je suis fier de travailler avec vous. Fier de bâtir à vos côtés. Et profondément reconnaissant pour tout ce que vous apportez, chaque jour. Last night, members of the Les Dames d’Escoffier International Birmingham Chapter teamed up with the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama for their Feast for Hope Gala (as we have done for the past five years). Our catering and baking Dames curated a delicious five-course meal accompanied by specially selected wine pairings in a beautifully transformed warehouse. Others of us served as hostesses, pouring and opening wines, taking photos, and helping out as needed. This impactful, meaningful partnership allows us to help with the Community Food Bank’s mission to end hunger in central Alabama.
