First print of my latest carving 🔪 A chrysanthemum flower. The very first linoprint on shirts i did 2 years ago was also with 2 chrysanthemums. I keep coming back to them 😅 they are so prettyyyy and fun to draw!! And have loads of symolic meaning to them. I will definitely print this one in various color combos!! I used to get so caught up in making the very most out of a linocut printing session - pulling out random stamps and pieces of paper just to make sure I used every last drop of ink before it dried out. The reality? I got tired, I pushed myself beyond my art capacities for the day, and it simply wasn’t as fun. So I changed my mindset! Instead of feeling guilty if I didn’t use every last drop, I gave myself grace and understanding. I focused on gratitude that I even got to create that day! After all, making art shouldn’t be about maximizing output or profitability. It’s about creating, listening to emotions, going with what your soul is saying. It’s not that deep. Make art! Have fun! My current hyper-fixation 😅 I’m going camping this week & when I get back I’m forcing myself to work on some resin pieces for all the markets I have coming up. I don’t want to create a new page for my linocut work (or any other future side-quests) so hopefully you’re all cool with little spurts of random content. Honestly, if there’s anything you can be sure of it’s that I will find new forms of art to become completely enthralled with.
