The unforgettable moment of an aircraft landing at Tenzing–Hillary Airport — one of the world’s highest and most dangerous airports. Built by Edmund Hillary with the support of local communities to transport essential supplies for building schools and hospitals in the Khumbu region. This legacy began after Hillary and Tenzing Norgay made history by successfully summiting Mount Everest for the first time in human history. #lukla #airport #world #dangerous #himalayas
Lukla is widely considered as the most dangerous airport in the world and a place I always wanted to fly to, here is a short teaser of what it’s like. #joshcahill #lukla #nepal #gotravelyourway #aviation #youtuber #avgeek #mounteverest
Touchdown at the world’s most thrilling runway ✈️🏔️ Landing at Tenzing-Hillary Airport is not just a flight… it’s an experience that stays with you forever. Inside the cabin, you can literally feel the mountains closing in. No long announcements, no second chances — just pure precision, skill, and adrenaline. The aircraft descends between massive Himalayan walls, and before you even process it… wheels hit one of the shortest and steepest runways in the world. That moment? Silence → shock → goosebumps. Every passenger inside knows — this isn’t a normal landing. This is the gateway to the Everest Base Camp journey. From nervous smiles to instant cheers after landing — the cabin tells a story of fear turning into thrill within seconds 😍🔥 If adventure had a starting point… this is it. 🎥 Captured from inside the aircraft 📍 Lukla, Nepal 🏔️ Start of something unforgettable #luklalanding #lukla #everestbasecamp #theadventureaddictedcompany
Talk about a cliffhanger. 😬😳 But yeah! I have arrived in the Himalayas, at the beginning of my 12 day Everest Basecamp trek! Unless you want to walk an extra 3 days, you can fly in these small planes to the edge of a sheer cliff, onto one of the shortest runways in the world, which dubs it the “Most Dangerous Airport in the World”. Not going to lie, today might have been only of the very few times I clapped when the plane landed, just because it was such an impressive landing! This is Lukla Airport, and I am SO glad I chose the shoulder season to do this trek, because there was hardly anyone else there! Normally it’s ridiculously crowded so I hear. Our first day of trekking was the easiest, and so far so good besides it being extremely cold at night and in the morning (even in multiple layers, a heated blanket, thermos of hot water, and comforter over me right now). We’re only at around 2,800meters (9,186 ft), so we are expecting it to get a lot worse! I’m really grateful to have an awesome trekker tribe with me though, as well as two awesome guides / also a yoga teacher! All the info for where we stay, what I packed, which company, essential tips etc will be on here, my blog, podcast, and YouTube when I return, since cell service and wifi is limited! Be honest, would you clap after a landing like this?? #ebctrek #mylifesatravelmovie #mylifesatraveltribe #alyssaramostravels #everest #everestbasecamp #lukla #luklaairport #mteverest #nepal #bucketlist

Extreme Landing In Lukla Nepal With Twin Otter One of the most dangerous landings on Earth. Lukla Airport in Nepal sits at 9,334 ft elevation and has a runway only 527 meters long, surrounded by mountains with no go-around option. In this flight, a Twin Otter DH6 attempts a night landing during an extreme storm. Lightning, rain, and strong winds make the approach even more intense. Would you fly into this airport? Comment below and share with someone who loves aviation. #aviation #lukla #extremelanding #twinotter #aviationlovers
Tenzing–Hillary Airport has a runway just 527 metres long — ending at a cliff edge with no realistic go-around once committed. Only specially certified pilots are allowed to land there, because one mistake doesn’t mean a missed approach… it means the valley below. It’s one of the most unforgiving airports on Earth. #aviation #lukla #tenzinghillaryairport #extremeairports #pilotlife
