New-ish mango bubble tea spot in Burnaby 🥭 With Macu closing 3 locations earlier this year, @alfateaconcept has now opened in Burnaby — right in the former Macu space. The drinks use very similar ingredients, with 5 mango drinks on the menu under different names, plus one new addition: Mango Passionfruit Fresho Tea. They also currently have a strawberry series available. We tried a couple of drinks and honestly, it tastes pretty similar to what I remember (maybe a little bit sweeter)— refreshing, not too sweet, and lots of mango goodness. Still hits the spot, especially during mango season. Interestingly though, my friend thought it was even better than Macu 👀 Have you tried it yet? What do you think? #mango #bubbletea #vancouverfood #yvrfood #vancouverfoodie

Happy #SaveTheEaglesDay! Today, we’re highlighting the positive outcomes of conservation efforts for eagles and other birds of prey, including bald eagles. Marie and Nemo, two of our resident bald eagles, joined Utah’s Hogle Zoo from the Alaskan Raptor Center after facing injuries in the wild. They serve as living symbols of the successful conservation journey of bald eagles. Back in the 1940s, only around 500 breeding pairs of bald eagles remained on Earth. Thanks to dedicated volunteers and government policies banning egg-harming poisons, bald eagles were officially removed from the Endangered Species List in 2007. Celebrate Save the Eagles Day, presented by @mountainamericacu, with us this Saturday, January 13th from 10 AM-3 PM! Listen to keeper presentations and have the chance to visit Marie and Nemo. A special thanks to our friends at Mountain America Credit Union for championing wildlife through their sponsorship of the bald eagle habitat. #utahshoglezoo #mountainamericacu #MACU #eagles #eagle #savetheeaglesday

🥭 This is Macu, a Taiwanese boba chain that overtook Yi Fang fruit tea location in Pasadena. They also just opened an Irvine location as well. They only use fresh fruits and whatever is in season so if you like mango, definitely go soon. We’re at the tail end of mango season. All the mango drinks will be gone soon. Next will be grape season. This is the King of Mango drink. It’s a freshly made Mango smoothie with grapefruit, coconut milk, tea jelly and mango chunks. My qualm is that I don’t love that sugar and ice levels are fixed. No adjusting allowed. Macu 📍 20 East Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91105 📍 6608 Irvine Center Dr, Irvine, CA 92618 #mango #sgv #sangabrielvalley #pasadena #irvine #oc #boba

RIP Richmond MACU TEA. MACU Tea is shutting down its Richmond Capstan location starting March 10, 2026. This makes it the third Metro Vancouver closure in just over two weeks. Robson Street and Burnaby Kingsway both closed on February 23. The Richmond spot was known for having the longest lines, especially during mango season when the brand’s seasonal mango drinks become some of the most sought-after orders in Metro Vancouver. Mango season is just weeks away. The timing could not be worse. The Kerrisdale location remains open but is independently owned by a different franchisee. 📍 1316-8368 Capstan Way, Richmond, BC 📎 Full scoop L1nk in B1o ⭐️ Comment ‘weeklynoms’ to get our weekly newsletter on all the new restaurants, deals, and events in Metro Vancouver! ✈ Share with your food buddy 📎 Bookmark to save for the future ❤ Like if you love yummy food 👇 Tag your food buddy in the comments
