It always feels good to come home. 💛💙 Thank you @miriamcollege_qc for inviting me again to open Girls at the Center (GATC) Week with you! When I opened GATC Week in 2020 before the pandemic hit, I talked about what it meant to dream, to put in the work, and the process of building and learning towards a goal. Last Monday, I talked about what it meant to win and unite as a team. I recounted the many, many days these past 3 years I dedicated to be the best version of myself for my country. I detailed what it took to truly compete as a team and really, how much I tried in this journey representing the flag. Both speeches reflect the power of belief and how it can drive you forward. Because at the end of the day, no matter the outcome, you’ll know you’ve given your best for yourself and for the people next to you. Always a meaningful time coming home and reconnecting with my teachers, cousins and sister the highschoolers, and the MCHS community! Grabe, friends, ang dami nila. Adopted! 💜💜💜 Yogi 🤎 If you’re looking for a dog that is as sweet as pie, say hello to Yogi. He’s a three-year-old, medium-sized mixed breed with a big heart and an even bigger love for people. Yogi is incredibly affectionate and eager to please. He has an adventurous spirit and would be a great match for someone who enjoys getting outside and trying new things. Long walks in the woods are his favorite, and at the end of the day, all he really wants is to be close to the people he loves. He’s been very social with other dogs at the shelter and enjoys making new friends. We are still working with him on car training, and he would do best in a no-cat home. Yogi would thrive in a family where he can be included in everyday life and join in on all kinds of adventures. His adoption fee is $150. Come meet Yogi. He’s ready to find his people. At MCHS, every animal gets a fair shot. We don’t euthanize for time or space—we focus on personalized care and positive outcomes. Meet Shaboozy 💛 This beautiful two-year-old boy came to us from the Ukiah shelter, and he’s now been with us for over two months… far longer than we ever imagined. We truly don’t know why he keeps getting overlooked. He’s gentle, soulful, and incredibly easy to love. Shaboozy is a little shy in new situations. New faces and environments can feel overwhelming for him, so he needs a moment to take everything in. But once he feels safe, he opens up in the sweetest, most tender way. His trust is quiet, genuine, and absolutely heart-melting. If you’re curious about him, we’d love for you to come spend a little time getting to know him: take him on a walk, let him explore, and watch how he slowly blossoms beside you. He just needs someone willing to see past that first shy moment. Shaboozy has waited long enough.
