The email literally had TODAY’S date at the top—and then said the meeting was TOMORROW farther down. Naturally, my brain grabbed the first date and ran with it. 😂
I planned my gym week around this. Made dinner early. Coordinated schedules. Woke up from my “quick nap” at 5:19 and rushed six boys out of the house…
Just to pull up and realize nobody was there. 😭🤦🏼♀️
One confusing email + one overly confident mom + one grumpy toddler in the backseat = just another day in our chaos crew. 😂

The older my kids get, the more I realize your village isn’t always something you’re given.
Sometimes you build it. 🤍
Today we went to a mission farewell for my best friend’s son—someone my youngest has always looked up to and who has never treated him like the little kid tagging along. He’s always just treated him like his friend.
As a mom, you never forget the people who are good to your kids.
I’m so grateful for my best friend and her family and the role they’ve played in ours. Now we have two more years of missing her son… but at least we know how to do this part. 😂 Packages are already on their way!
And now we’re home hosting dinner and dessert with a whole random mix of people we love. A coworker of my daughter’s I’ve never met, a man from China who somehow became family, my other soul sister and her kids…
And honestly, I love it.
One friend.
One family.
One person your kids bring home at a time.
That’s how our village is being built.
Maybe this stage of motherhood isn’t about your house getting emptier as your kids grow up.
Maybe it’s about watching them bring more people to the table. 🤍
And apparently this regular 48-year-old mom needed an outfit for ALL of it today. 😂

It’s the most magical time of the year 💫
Growing up in Mexico we didn’t get gifts on Christmas Day, we did during the day of the Three Kings which is January 6th. December is all about posadas, family, food, and togetherness.
Now that we are a multicultural family living in the USA it’s so neat to be able to celebrate both and be a part of something bigger. ♥️

Dinner is not negotiable for us.
Does that mean we eat at 4:20 most days so everyone can make it to hockey, dance, work, and wherever else we're headed? Yep. 😂
Was tonight's dinner way too ambitious for the number of activities on the calendar? Also yep.
But everyone sat down. Everyone ate. And my family was fed a delicious, home-cooked meal before we scattered in six different directions.
It doesn't have to be at 6:00. It doesn't have to be slow or fancy. But whenever we can, we eat together. 🤍
And apparently sometimes I make dinner like we have nowhere to be when we absolutely have somewhere to be.

My husband sent me this video and I’m so thankful he captured such a sweet little moment. 🥹🤍😴
Somewhere between the sound of rain outside and the warmth of all those cuddles, the three of us completely crashed out.
When I watch this back, there are three little things I can’t stop noticing…
The way our breathing is completely in sync. 🥹 It takes me right back to when their tiny bodies fit perfectly on my chest and so many of our days were spent taking contact naps. Time really does slip through our fingers.
Then my eyes go straight to the little heart shape our heads and my arm create around them. 🤍 God has always had a way of getting our family’s attention through little heart-shaped reminders. It’s one of those sweet ways He reminds us that He loves us.
And then her tiny hand resting on her big brother’s head. 😭 I just can’t.
I see His goodness all around us, even in the simplest, most ordinary moments.
One day my lap won’t be their favorite place to rest, so for now I’m soaking up every single cuddle and treasuring every precious little moment I get. 🤍
