{English} Check out my video to find out what is the secret ingredient found from half of supermarket products! 👀
Or if you are lazy, simply scroll down… 😏
Believe it or not, roughly half of everyday products we buy from the supermarket contain palm oil. Palm oil doesn’t have the best reputation but using palm oil itself isn’t the issue. 🍫
As a crop, palm oil is super-efficient and cheap to produce, and therefore it’s been used in so many products. Here, sustainability certifications can help. 🌿
For example, the MSPO (Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil) certification ensures that palm oil producers are not only protecting the environment, but also treating their workers fairly. 👨🏻🌾
So, the next time you buy something which includes palm oil, make sure it’s certified sustainable! ✅

MSPO And ASSC Alliance To Boost Demand For Certified Sustainable Palm Oil In Japan.
The Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO), formerly known as the Malaysian Palm Oil Certification Council, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Japan’s Global Alliance for Sustainable Supply Chain (ASSC) aimed at strengthening market access and demand for MSPO-certified palm oil across Japan’s premium industrial sectors.
The collaboration, announced by Malaysia’s Ministry of Plantation and Commodities, is a significant step towards bolstering the country’s global standing in the sustainable palm oil sector. It underscores Malaysia’s strategic intent to align its industry with international sustainability benchmarks while capitalising on opportunities within high-value markets.

Meet Joseph Tek Choon Yee
A true OG in Malaysia’s palm oil industry!
With 30+ years of experience, Joseph has done it all ; research, innovation, leadership, and pushing for sustainability way before it was cool. He started out as a plant breeder at Sime Darby, later became CEO of IJM Plantations, and eventually led the Malaysian Estate Owners Association (MEOA) and Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA), tackling big issues like labour, tech, mechanisation and replanting strategies.
Armed with degrees from UKM and Cambridge, plus a leadership course stint with Harvard, Joseph also spearheaded projects to uplift youth in Borneo through plantation focused TVET programme.
Now semi-retired in Sabah, he’s still making waves writing thought pieces, mentoring passionate young change makers, and sharing real talk about the future of palm oil.
Proud to have him onboard as #MYPalmPride Mentor Professor with REGENERASI!

Malaysia and the European Union (EU) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen cooperation in advancing sustainability and combating deforestation. The EU acknowledged Malaysia’s Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) certification as a credible scheme with strong digital traceability, supporting compliance with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
During the visit, it was highlighted Malaysia’s centralised national system to assist exporters in meeting EUDR requirements, while EU Commissioner for Environment, Jessika Roswall, commended Malaysia’s unprecedented progress in reducing deforestation.
The partnership will further enhance deforestation-free and transparent supply chains, with dedicated support for smallholders in supplying sustainable palm oil and rubber to the EU market.
