Turns out if you make hats every day they keep getting better and better. It’s very satisfying to work at craft and watch yourself improving bit by bit, hat by hat. Just finished this custom hat. 100% beaver in natural, which maybe my favorite color beaver felt. They always look so good on just about everyone’s complexion. The customer wanted a short brimmed cowboy hat so we went with a 3” brim with just a little lift to wear in both town and country. Cattleman crease for the crown with a hmule kick and a nice understated horsehair hatband. A hat that is simultaneously very elegant and sturdy at the same time. #customhat #hatmaker #cowboyhat #western #madeinoregon

Fast fashion knockoff sellers are routinely stealing the patterns and product photos from original handmade creators. 😡😡😡 This year we have seen a serious influx of cheap bulk crochet items trickling into farmers and maker markets, saturating the spaces and stealing sales from artists. As authentic crochet artists we now have to prove that our work is handmade and that it is, in fact, well worth the higher pricing.
