How It's Made for March Meet the Maker🧵
This took WAY too long to make, but I got stubborn sticking to this planned post😆
Posting a 'Would You Rather' based on my sewing preferences🪡
💖🧵I Would Rather...🧵💖
🪡...Sew Womenswear
I'll sew menswear, but typically find womenswear a more interesting job!
🪡...Machine Sew
Hand sewing can be quite therapeutic...but considering how busy my workload can be, machine sewing definitely feels more productive!
🪡...Overlock
No zig-zagging here!
🪡...Wear a Print
If you know me, you'll know I'm a magpie for a floral print in particular!
🪡...Sew Lace
My favourite job! I don't know why I love it so much - it takes ages! But it's so easy to get a bit lost in the detail and quite therapeutic to unpick!
🪡...Sew Chiffon
Both can be slippery to sew, but measuring, cutting and sewing organza usually takes extra effort!
🪡...Cut with Scissors
I love my Fiskars collection!
🪡...Sew a Rolled Hem
Rolling a hem is like second nature to me!
🪡...Add Accessories
Love seeing how my clients accessorise their looks and love a hair bow myself!
🪡...Not Work With Glitter
I absolutely LOVE the glitter looks BUT hate cleaning it out of my machine😆 and if you've been in my studio with a glittery dress, you may have heard me say how much I wish I had invested in a glitter floor to hide the glitter aftermath from your fittings😂✨

What the Foot? 👣
This time it’s the button sewing foot.
I’d never tried this one before and honestly… I love it.
I’ve always been slightly scared of breaking the needle sewing buttons on, but this makes it so easy.
Have you used one?

Sewing isn’t always easy… and that’s okay. 🧵
Sometimes a sewing project just doesn’t click. In this case — the sleeves. I love sewing but every garment sewist knows there are moments when a pattern just fights back.
Instead of forcing it and having a full sewing meltdown, sometimes the best sewing tip is simply to walk away from the project and come back later with fresh eyes.
Sewing is a skill, and every skill has ups and downs. Some projects are wins, some are learning moments — and that’s all part of the sewing journey.
Follow along for more garment sewing, sewing inspiration, sewing tips, and real sewing life.

2026 is the year that if you’re not already sewing, you seriously need to start!
9 times out of 10 I wear clothing that I have made myself, and it’s genuinely the best feeling there is 🥹
Wearing something one of a kind is so special, and even better when someone asks ‘where did you get your dress from?’ 🤩
Here’s a wee line up of some Memade outfits that I often wear to school, most have patterns so you can see your very own versions!
If you’ve been thinking about starting your sewing journey, this is your sign 🫡🤩
One: Sundae Dress
Two: Sunny Dress (worn as a skirt)
Three: Stevie Dress x Super Snug
Four: Sunny Dress (worn as a skirt)
Five: Teddy Dress
Six: Keepin Kosy
Seven: Pebbles Dress
Eight: Teddy Dress
