K-State students still in Manhattan during the summer, I know you’re here and probably feeling a little out of sorts. What do you do in Manhattan during the summer? Well, here are some of my suggestions! Of course, you gotta check out the Konza Prairie. Experience that walk and the beautiful scenery. Pillsbury Crossing is another great spot to explore. But I highly suggest discovering the secret beach. The secret beach is out by Tuttle Creek Lake. Head towards Broken Arrow Ranch. It’s tricky to find, you have to walk about a half a mile to see the sand, but it is a beach! Manhattan, Kansas—we have a beach! I 💜 college towns. They’re the best. And Manhattan, Kansas totally lived up to its charm. Here’s a look at what made our time in “The Little Apple” so special: 💃🏻 Aggieville: I loved @solongsaloonmhk and @tacoluchamhk (get the raspberry black bean dip and a Nancy!) Also, @varsitydonuts is a mustttt…cutest little shop with the best donuts in town. 🌾 Flint Hills Discovery Center: Extremely impressive museum for kids (and kids at heart) where you can dive into the history of the Flint Hills area. @discoverfhdc 🐆 Sunset Zoo: We had the best time here. The wildcats were our favorite! And the very active lil meerkat @sunsetzoomhk 🏎️ Midwest Dream Car Collection: With over 65 stunning cars spanning more than a century, this collection is the epitome of a Midwest hidden gem. @midwestdreamcarcollection ☕️ Arrow Coffee Company: During my travels, I am always on the hunt for the best coffee around and I do believe I found it at this lovely shop. Highly recommend the lavender mocha. @arrowcoffeeco 🥃 Bourbon & Baker: Our favorite meal in Manhattan was at @bourbonandbaker, a tapas-style restaurant. My recos: cornbread sliders, deviled eggs, shakshuka, and brussels sprouts. 🍺 Tallgrass Tap House: Where does one sit down to catch the K-State vs. Kansas football game?
