Late last month where we spent a weekend out of Manila, and the only non-negotiable from my end was one thing and one thing only: lunch at Mrs Saldo's. I always leave this ~magical~ place feeling light in disposition yet busog with all the delicious food. And though I know tasting menus can be intimidating for most, this Bang Bang tasting menu may actually be the most approachable, most relaxed, and most different. Guide to visit the World's Oldest Chinatown! 🇵🇭👇 Welcome to Binondo, the world's oldest Chinatown, established in 1594. Located in the heart of Manila, it's one of the city's best places to experience Chinese-Filipino culture through its food, history, and bustling streets. The best way to explore Binondo is on foot. Wander through the small alleys, visit old temples and traditional shops, and don't be afraid to join the queues because locals usually know where the best food is (Binondo Bites). I ended up waiting 40 minutes for the famous Binondo Bites, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my Manila trip. 📍 Location: Binondo, Manila ⏰ Best time to visit: 11:00 AM-4:00 PM (most food stalls are open) 🚆 Getting there: LRT-1 to Carriedo Station (7 min walk) or Grab 🚶 Best way to explore: Walk or take a tricycle through the small streets 🍜 Don't miss: Street food, traditional Chinese-Filipino restaurants, and local bakeries 💵 Bring: Cash for street food and smaller shops #fyp #manilatrip #solotravel #traveling #backpacking
