Tonight was a strange moment on the ship. I was sitting at the bar around 10:15 when an alarm started going off. Then the intercom came on and said “man overboard” three times.
You instantly get a pit in your stomach. Everyone sort of froze and looked around. Your mind starts racing. Was it an accident? Did someone jump?
It’s the middle of the ocean and pitch black outside. You start thinking about how hard it would be to find someone out there at night. You wonder what it takes to turn a ship like this around and whether they’ll be able to locate the person.
For my friends and family, if you see this story on the news tomorrow… don’t worry, it wasn’t me. I’m still safely on the ship and very much plan to make it back to the buffet in the morning.

A lot of people have been asking what happened after the “man overboard” call on the cruise ship last night.
The crew immediately slowed the ship and started the search process. It was honestly a pretty intense moment because we were in the middle of the ocean and it was completely dark outside.
Everyone on board was just hoping the person would be found.
