This week, the Green Oceans Team had the privilege of speaking with Chairwoman Andrews-Maltais of the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head. High above the magnificent Gay Head Cliffs, the Chairwoman eloquently recounted the Tribe’s 10,000-year history on the Island and then described how offshore wind industrialization has desecrated their sacred ancestral lands and waters. The sun was setting as we departed Aquinnah—heavenly colors marred by the hellish silhouettes of massive turbines and construction vessels on the horizon.
