His death shook not just the band, but the entire rock community. Originally, the track started as a song about life on the road-being far away from loved ones. But after The Rev’s passing, it transformed into something much heavier. It became a goodbye... one that the band never got to properly say. Lead guitarist Synyster Gates composed much of the music, while vocalist M. Shadows poured raw emotion into the lyrics.
