From early days to enduring legacy, John Wayne shares how his journey in film began with football. 🏈
After completing MDMA assisted therapy to treat my complex PTSD, the final step in my childhood trauma healing journey has come from the most unlikely place— @deadandcompany shows @spherevegas ⚡️🌹💀I’m sure that many people don’t understand why anyone would see the same band at the same venue eighteen times (not including last year). Perhaps you think that #deadheads are weird, or the whole hippie scene makes you extremely uncomfortable. What I have come to realize is that I could not step into the light without feeling uncomfortable which in turn, freed me from the traumatic chains of my past. ⛓️‍💥⛓️‍💥⛓️‍💥⛓️‍💥 Six of the Dead and Company shows @charliehargraves and I went to last year were in seats which was a different experience from being with the left side dancers on the floor. It wasn’t until I had the opportunity to do a photoshoot on the floor during a Dead and Company show that I truly found a space where I could do some next level healing. This music, and the beautiful community of people who I have come to know and love have literally changed my life. Charlie and I have had our hearts opened, joy has poured into our souls, and we have made lifelong friends who feel more like family🙏🏼❤️🥹🥰 If being a deadhead is weird then I am weird and I will proudly scream it from the rooftops. This music moves me and heals me and I am eternally grateful and honored to be a part of this community. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 The more joy I felt at the Dead shows the more I wondered if other people have had similar experiences🤔 I decided to reach out and ask other deadheads if they too have been changed in some way by this music and community. I have been amazed by how many people reached out to be interviewed and share their life changing stories. I will be working with the talented photographer @caryn7 who masterfully captured images throughout the Dead and Company sphere residency. I can’t wait to share this passion piece with my readers!! *if you are interested in learning more about MDMA assisted therapy you can find information @maps__org Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right. #nfa

Happy birthday @MickeyHart💀🌹⚡ A driving force of the Dead’s dual-drummer sound since ‘67, his rhythms continue to echo far beyond the stage. May the music keep flowing and the adventures never end.
Phil Lesh, a classically trained musician and self-taught bass player, brought a transformative energy to the Grateful Dead, teaching his fellow members—Bobby Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart and Jerry Garcia—to embrace improvisation and musical freedom: “He taught us basically how to be free.”
Hi there! Lots of new people joining me on instagram here (thank you and welcome!) so thought I’d reintroduce myself. My name is Davy Knowles - I’m a guitarist and singer/songwriter born on the Isle of Man in the British isles, now living in the States. I was part of a band called Back Door Slam in the early 2000s, and have been touring and recording under my name since around 2009 ish. I’ve been lucky enough to tour the world, and work with some of my all time heroes, including folks like Peter Frampton, Joe Satriani, Sammy Hagar, The Who, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann from the Grateful Dead, among others. I also play in a band with ex Rory Gallagher band members Gerry McAvoy and Brendan O’Neill. It’s a joy to get to do this for a living, and something I don’t take for granted! I’ve got a bunch of albums out, both in the real world and on all the streaming platforms. Thanks again for joining me on here - and hope to see you out there on the road!
Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir on David Letterman 1982 - ❤️❤️ Thought I’d post another one before bed 🙏💔❤️ Monkey & The Engineer” RIP Robert Hall Weir ( October 16, 1947 – January 2026) was an American musician and songwriter best known as a founding member of the Grateful Dead. After the group disbanded in 1995,[Weir performed with the Other Ones, later known as the Dead, together with other former members of the Grateful Dead. Weir also founded and played in several other bands during and after his career with the Grateful Dead, including Kingfish, the Bob Weir Band, Bobby and the Midnites, Scaring the Children, RatDog, and Furthur, which he co-led with former Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh. In 2015, Weir, along with former Grateful Dead members Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, joined with Grammy-winning singer/guitarist John Mayer, bassist Oteil Burbridge, and keyboardist Jeff Chimenti to form the band Dead & Company. #bobweir #jerrygarcia #thegratefuldead #thedead #rip
At last night's @MusiCares honoring the @GratefulDead right before my performance of Loose Lucy, I decided to play the guitar solo myself. Having @ZacBrown, @BillyStrings, @realmarcusking, @JohnMayer, and many other guitar greats in the house needless to say, I was nervous! But anything for my brothers @bobweir @mickeyhart #Balls #TequilaMadeMeDoIt #WhatANight @donwas @jeffchimentimusic the band was great, thank you all
Five days after Phil Lesh’s death, Bobby Weir, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart gathered at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall for their first television interview together since his passing. Phil was supposed to take part in the chat, a portion of which aired on @CBSMornings today with more to come next month. Lesh’s longtime bandmates revealed plans were in the works for the four musicians to reunite musically in 2025 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the #gratefuldead. Click link in bio to watch more of Weir, Kreutzmann and Hart’s chat with CBS News’ Anthony Mason #gratefuldead #GD60
