As vozes deles e de outros ratinhos foram feitas por uma única pessoa: Jimmy MacDonald, que também era o chefe do departamento de efeitos sonoros da Disney e a voz oficial do Mickey Mouse na época. Ele acelerava as gravações para dar aquele tom fininho e icônico. ​🐭 A criação do Tatá (Gus) ​O nome completo do Tatá, em inglês, é Octavius (daí o apelido "Gus-Gus"). Mas a verdadeira curiosidade é que o jeitinho gordinho, atrapalhado e o visual dele foram totalmente inspirados em um dos principais animadores do filme, Fred Moore. Os colegas de estúdio resolveram homenagear (e brincar com) o amigo criando o ratinho à imagem e semelhança dele! ​🐱 Luz, Câmera... Gatos! ​Lembra que quase todo o filme foi gravado com atores de verdade antes de ser desenhado? Para a cena em que os ratos fogem do gato Lúcifer, os animadores levaram gatos de verdade para o estúdio para estudar o comportamento deles. Eles precisavam entender exatamente o peso do bote de um gato e a reação de fuga de pequenos animais para que a perseguição parecesse real na tela. ​🧵 A roupa das ratinhas ​A Disney manteve uma lógica visual bem divertida: enquanto os ratos machos (como Jaq e Tatá) usam camisetas e chapéus humanos cortados e adaptados, as ratinhas (como a Mary e a Suzy) usam vestidinhos e lenços amarrados na cabeça, parecendo costureiras clássicas da época. Elas foram inspiradas no visual das mulheres que trabalhavam no próprio departamento de tintas e pintura da Disney nos anos 1940. ​🎙️ Uma linguagem inventada ​Aquela forma rápida e enrolada que o Jaq e o Tatá usam para falar não era um idioma real acelerado.
