@thegeoffmoore 🏴‍☠️ Social Distortion secret show and listening party for there new record at the little bar around the corner from my house. That certainly ruled. They played the new record, which is great, in its entirety and then the band did a stripped down set of some classics and a couple new ones. Hell ya 🏴‍☠️🤘🏼🥳 Silverake Lounge. Los Angeles. This week Social Distortion announced ‘Born To Kill,’ out May 8 via Epitaph Records. It’s the SoCal punk icons’ first album in 15 years and their first since frontman Mike Ness beat tonsil cancer. The title track is streaming now. At a listening party in LA on Tuesday, the band played the LP in full and Ness was interviewed by Epitaph head and Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz. Bad Religion’s first show was opening for Social Distortion at an Orange County warehouse in 1980. “It wasn’t really an industry back then,” Ness said of the bands’ overlapping early years. “It was a movement.” To cap off the night, Social D performed a stripped-down version of the album track “Tonight” — “the first time we’ve played it in this setup,” Ness said — plus a handful of oldies. They’ll tour the UK and Europe this summer before kicking off a North American run with support from the Descendents and the Chats. #SocialDistortion #MikeNess #BadReligion

This memory lives rent-free in my head. The time a frontman from a legendary punk rock group terrified a child in front of a live audience at a sold-out show. #SocialDistortion #MikeNess #Concert #PunkRock #MidlifeCrisis

Fuck yes! @socialdistortion was AMAZING tonight, OMG! I’ve seen them a few times over the years and I am thrilled to see that #MikeNess and the #SocialD boys still kick all ass. #StoryOfMyLife has been a fave song of mine for a very long time and I know they don’t perform it every night so I was very, very happy it made the setlist tonight 😎 This was the 110th concert I’ve seen this year and this was the BEST way to wrap out a stunning year of live music. 2022 may end up being the overall best year of concerts that I have or will ever see 🙌🏼 What a year 🤩
