Walked in at 12pm… fully booked. Came back at 2:30pm and the place was still buzzing. That’s how popular Modo Mio is at Pacific Fair Gold Coast and honestly, I get it 😉 @modomio.co That Sand Crab Lasagna was divine 🙌🏻 ❤️ Silky pasta sheets layered with sweet crab meat and delicious creamy béchamel, all tied together with rich abalone sauce and a fresh rocket salad. At $38 🤩 Very fair for the quality and portion 👍🏻 We also tried the Linguine con Bugs, and wow 😍 generous chunks of Moreton Bay Bug meat, cooked in a velvety garlic parmesan cream sauce with cherry tomatoes and roasted capsicum. So indulgent and packed with flavour 😋 The Open Steak Sandwich from the chef’s recommendation menu did not disappoint 🥪 juicy 4+ scotch fillet, pancetta, truffle aioli and melted cheese on ciabatta… yummm…every bite was a treat 😌 Even the garlic bread deserves a shout-out! Crispy edges, fluffy centre, and that buttery garlic hit. So Yummo! The atmosphere was lively but relaxed, with warm, attentive service from start to finish. Whether you’re there for a date, catch-up or a treat-yourself solo lunch, it’s got the vibe and the flavours. One of our best Italian restaurants on the Gold Coast is hiding in plain sight in the middle of Pacific Fair shopping centre. Modo Mio sits among verdant gardens, peacefully watching as the world whirls around it. It's the perfect place to meet up with friends for a casual elegant lunch, or to spend time with a partner for time out over a classic modern Italian meal, filling and comforting. When we visited, we chose much-loved dishes for lunch: * Garlic prawns in a cream garlic and brandy sauce mopped up with house made ciabatta * Tempura battered zucchini flowers filled with salami and buffalo ricotta cheese * Surf and turf - a tender 250g eye fillet generously topped with Moreton Bay bug and prawn meat * Sandcrab lasagna with bechamel cream topped with abalone sauce, a classic example of a Queensland dish, created by Chef Gillian Hirst in 1992. Service was excellent, the vibe professional and relaxed, leading to one of the best meals we have enjoyed for some time.
