I love it when men book headshots with me because it gives me the chance to show them that it's not like it was in the 90s when you went to Moto Photo and stood in a cheesy pose in front of a white backdrop!
Having modern headshots really helps you convey to your clients that you are current, knowledgable and approachable!
I really enjoyed meeting this gentleman and hearing his mission to create accessibility to psychiatric help to children all over the world and I feel so honored to give him something that will help him represent himself in his mission!
(His wife booked with me a few months back and we had such an amazing time together that she sent him to me as well and I'm so thankful!)

Back in 2004, I made the switch from film photography to digital photography. For World Photographer Day, I thought it would be fun to do a little throw back to one of my first Digital weddings!
The first photo is from Mark and Denise's wedding back in 2004 and the second photo is from Courtney and Josh's wedding earlier this year.
It's definitely fun looking back over my career. I started out at Olan Mills then moved to Moto Photo before starting my own studio in 1997.

The Yashica Minister D was released around 1963 and has a 45mm f2.8 lens which makes it unique.
I needed to test this camera to see if it was even functioning, so I used so cheap expired film called Moto Photo 200. I assume this film used to be sold in gas stations and convenience stores. Not sure how old this particular roll was but I rated it at 100 to be safe. Again, I tried here to shoot the whole roll in one go.
As for the Minister, I bought it partially for the rad logos on the front to be honest. Reminds me of Wes Anderson. I also appear to be growing a collection of various Yashica cameras.
I was pleasantly impressed with this camera. The handling was excellent and it was easy to use for street photography. I love the lens setup in the copal shutter, it has Ev adjustments making adjusting your exposure very simple.
The combo of this lens and the expired film was incredibly low contrast but it’s nice if you’re looking for the vintage look.
I couldn’t get the meter on the camera running but I suspect the battery door needs more cleaning. I metered these with my Sekonic L408 Multi-Master
