Are you an independent artist? If you are, do you have these 5 things prepared? Let's break these down... 1. Clear Goals: are vital for independent artists as they provide a roadmap for your artistic journey, helping you define your objectives and plan their actions accordingly. Clear goals give artists a sense of purpose and direction, motivating you to stay focused and committed to your craft. 2. An EPK (Electronic Press Kit): is an essential tool for independent artists to present themselves professionally to industry professionals, journalists, and potential collaborators. It typically includes a biography, press photos, music samples, and other promotional materials, giving recipients a comprehensive overview of the artist and their work. 3. Target marketing allows independent artists to tailor their promotional efforts to specific demographics, genres, or regions, maximizing their impact and return on investment. By identifying and understanding their target audience, artists can create content and campaigns that resonate with their fans, leading to higher engagement, increased sales, and a stronger connection with their fanbase. 4. Music distribution is essential for independent artists to get their music heard by a wide audience. With the rise of digital platforms and streaming services, artists have more opportunities than ever to distribute their music globally. By leveraging distribution channels such as online music stores, streaming platforms, and social media, artists can reach listeners worldwide and build a loyal fanbase. 5. Engaged fans: are crucial for the success of independent artists as they provide support, feedback, and promotion. By cultivating a strong relationship with their fans through social media engagement, live performances, and personalized interactions, artists can create a dedicated community around your music. 6. Good Music: this is debatable.. I believe branding and marketing can give "bad music" an avenue to thrive. The cool thing is, there's pretty much lane for any artist that can encompass the first 5 attributes above. Did I miss anything? Tell me in the comments 👇

Sometimes you play what works. Sometimes nothing works… so you make what you feel works. Using AI has helped me finish ideas I’ve been sitting on for years. Yes it's controversial but beyond prompts and the most amazing AI singers, you'll still need those music samples, chords, hooks and half-written lyric ideas in poetic meters to get a vibe close to what you are about. It was all the things I said I’d get to “one day”. This is that “one day” and there are now more than 10 tracks on Spotify. It's the kind of music I grew up on — 90s / 00s house vibes, piano, soul, disco groove… that feeling. I make songs that sound like my life — from “Dear Universe” to “Cocktails Let’s Go”… somewhere between reflection and happy hour (hic)! Massive thanks to everyone (all 60+++ of you!) who’s listening, adding to playlists, and supporting in any way. Means the world to me! And if you haven’t yet — give it a listen and tell me what you think. Who knows… that song might just be about you.
