Thinking about majoring in music? Here are 7 things Google won’t tell you! Before Majoring in Music: 1️⃣ Not only do you need to apply to the University on whole, but you also need to schedule an audition with the school of music (and often even an interview for music education!). 2️⃣ You must be accepted to BOTH the university AND the school of music 🤯 3️⃣ You should DEFINITELY schedule a trial lesson with every institution you are interested. These are FREE lessons so you can see if you and the school are a good fit! 4️⃣ If you don’t have a private teacher yet, we always highly recommend getting started in private lessons if possible! *If not, talk to your music teacher to find a creative alternative! Once You are an Official Music Major!
1️⃣ Your schedule = Nonstop rehearsals, lessons, and classes. It’s a lot, but honestly, it’s basically like having band-adjacent classes allllll day!
2️⃣ Practicing Legit = Homework. And yes, your professor can tell when you didn’t do it.
3️⃣ If you’ve ever fallen in love with Hogwarts and the whole HP Community, you will LOVE music school… It’s like being a full-time wizard, especially when it comes to Conducting Classes 🪄
4️⃣ You will probably question your life choices at least once a semester. (It’s normal, we promise 🫠 )
But seriously, despite the stress, the long hours, and the tough critiques… you wouldn’t trade it for anything. ❤️🎵 Did we get it right? Let us know in the poll! Share with a future music major who needs to see this! ⬇️ P.S. - Want my top 5 ways to prep for majoring in music? Drop “HOGWARTS” and we will DM you our favorites! . . . #MusicMajor #MusicEducation #FutureMusician #CollegeAuditions #MusicStudent

took on a very ambitious challenge of transcribing this by ear. Still working on precision and paying attention to detail.🫡 All in all a very fun solo to learn! 🤍 • • • #jazz #singer #musician #transcription #musicstudent

Week in my life #2 ☺️ Only 3-4 weeks left before submission and the end of this crazy ride that has been studying my masters. Thought I’d document the end while it’s still here. From the BINI Concert to being in the studio to hanging out with friends! Shout to all the people who made this week pretty special @direklauren @dyogis_kitchen @bini_ph @missusgraham @angela_buen @cynthbass @clarismae_ @kdynmusic #musicstudent #vlog #weeklyvlog #composer
