Cici ist 6 geworden! 🙏🏻🐶🥳🎈 Als wir sie bekommen haben, war sie geschätzt etwa 6 Monate alt, und in ihrem Pass steht als Geburtsdatum der 01.01. Keiner weiß genau, wann und wo sie geboren wurde. Eines aber wissen wir ganz sicher: Sie ist jetzt 6 Jahre alt, und über 5 davon darf sie bei uns leben. 😍 Sie ist die treueste Seele überhaupt und hat mir gezeigt, dass es nichts Schöneres gibt, als einen Hund zu adoptieren und ihm ein neues Leben zu schenken. It’s almost ironic that Charlie’s deep amber eyes have always been one of my favourite things about him, and now it’s exactly those beautiful eyes that have failed and are no longer working 🧡 Either way, he is still our most beautiful resilient boy! Charlie is adjusting amazingly well to his blindness (he has SARDS) - it is honestly blowing my mind! Inside our house you would not know he is blind. He knows every corner, every door frame, and he sure knows the location of his toy baskets 🤣 this past week my husband and I have both noticed that he is acting like himself again - he’s being vocal, he is playing with his toys again, he’s being more interactive with Moose, and he’s gaining more confidence every day! #blinddog #doghealth #doglife #dogs #mydog 🎵: “cowpoke” by @isaiah.sheffield

As you can imagine, living with a blind dog has come with a lot of new challenges! While he is doing so so well in our home and on our property, he is still at risk of bumping into things which increases the likelihood of him injuring his eyes. This is why we’ve ordered special dog goggles for him 🥽💙 the goggles are there to protect his eyes! Charlie has always been a dog that needs time to get used to new gear, so we are taking things slow getting him accustomed to his new goggles. The goggles are something he will be wearing a lot going forward, so making sure he’s actually comfortable wearing them is incredibly important to me. One of the biggest adjustments for us in our home has been to be cognizant of not leaving doors half open, not leaving things laying on the floor, or even just pulling out a drawer with Charlie around - we have to really think about our actions to make sure he stays safe! 🥽: X-large @rexspecsk9 #ourjourney #doghealth #mydog #doglife #doglove

Do you like Laser’s tippy taps? 🥹 We often get asked how we taught Laser to dance- and the answer is: we didn’t. When we play with her favorite ball, she’s always calculating which direction it will go. She moves side to side to try to grab it as quickly as she can so it doesn’t get past her. So it’s not a trick she learned- she’s just extremely focused on the ball and loves being active when she plays!
