Kenya has some of the worst alcoholism of any nation in Africa. ✨Almost half of young men (49.7%) between 15-19 years of age who use alcohol engage in binge alcohol consumption (WHO Report). ✨It's no longer a 'theirs'' issue with almost every over family in Kenya having a child struggling with alcoholism.It has become a PANDEMIC. ✨Alcoholism and alcohol related deaths among Kenyan youths are pressing issues that require a comprehensive and multi-faceted approach. 🟢Efforts to address alcohol- related issues will necessitate a combination of targeted education campaigns,policy reforms to regulate alcohol availability,improved #mentalhealth support and community based initiatives. 🟢We are extremely glad to see government led initiatives such as the #boychild Drug & Alcohol abuse recovery programs by H.E Dr Pastor Dorcas Rigathi and #NACADA ongoing efforts to tackle this issue and contribute to a healthier ,brighter and #DignifiedFuture for the young individuals of this nation. #sikika #tubongetusifiche #mentalwellness #alcoholism #recovery #wellbeing #mentalhealthawareness #Mwak #youthempowerment #youthmentalhealth
