We are in crisis mode.
Today alone, 20 dogs have already entered our shelter, and we started the day with 50 dogs over our target capacity. When people hear that we’re full, they sometimes think that means we can stop intake — but we can’t. Dogs continue to arrive throughout the day, and even after we close, Animal Control officers are still bringing in dogs who have nowhere else to go.
Right now, dogs are in crates in our intake area because every kennel is full. These are the highest numbers we have seen this year.
Our staff and volunteers are doing everything we possibly can — caring for them, advocating for them, and trying to buy them time. But the one thing we cannot do ourselves is create homes.
That’s where our community comes in.
Please come to the shelter before 7 PM today to foster or adopt.
Even short-term fostering helps us create the space we desperately need.
Our team never wants to make heartbreaking decisions. We fight for these dogs every single day. But when space runs out, we are left with choices no one wants to face.
We need your help. They need your help.
If you cannot come today, please share this post. The right person might see it in time to save a life.

📢 Important Update: Weekend Events & Foster Appeal
Due to the current situation, our large-scale adoption events scheduled for this weekend have been cancelled. However, our mission to find homes for these vibrant souls continues.
In place of our public events, we will be holding special meet-and-greets by appointment only this weekend. This allows for a more tranquil and focused introduction between our dogs and potential families.
As many of you have seen, the abandonment of dogs is on a heartbreaking rise. We were already well over capacity, and now - alongside our fellow rescues - it falls to us to pick up the pieces for dogs whose humans have cast them aside.
🏠 How You Can Help
The most impactful way to support us right now is by opening your home to a foster dog. Moving a dog into a home environment not only provides them with a calm space to settle, but it also creates a vital opening at the center for another dog in distress.
We have dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments - from quiet seniors to young puppies—who are simply looking for a temporary place to stay.
✨ The Impact of Fostering:
- Life-Saving Space: Every dog moved into a foster home creates a space for a dog currently left on the streets or tied to a post.
- A Safe Harbor: In uncertain times, a home environment provides the tranquil recovery and reassurance these dogs desperately need.
- Community Strength: We cannot do this alone. Your support is the bridge between a dog being abandoned and a dog being adored.

🆘 ANOTHER E-LISTER SAVED 🆘
Please welcome Ranger to the ANM Family! ❤️🩹🐾
Ranger recently found his life at-risk on the county’s euthanasia list. Thanks to a willing and committed foster, Ranger is quickly settling into an amazing foster home. Now we start finding this sweet, handsome boy’s forever family! 🏡💙
WE NEED THE COMMUNITY. Good dogs are dying every day, shelters are overcrowded and we can’t save lives if we don’t have adopters or fosters. You could save a life by stepping up to be a foster. You could save two lives by adopting as it allows space for an E-Lister to be saved or for us to help partner pleas. We need you — the dogs need you more than ever. 🐶
Our organization is 100% donation-based, meaning every dollar goes back to our dogs for boarding, food, medical and other costs. These funds are essential for us to continue saving lives. Please consider donating to our organization to help with the essential costs that come with rescue. We are so appreciative of your continued support! 🙏🏼🐾

IMMEDIATE FOSTERS NEEDED!!!
We rescued these puppies from a property of over 300 dogs that were left to fend for themselves.
These puppies have no idea what it is to be a pet, to be loved,to be cherished.
As they grow, their need for space grows larger, and they are now taking up 6 kennels due to size and litter mate syndrome.
PLEASE CONTACT US AT 985-892-7387 TO FOSTER ONE OF THESE PUPS!!
Brownie and Mina still have no foster offers .
Brownie is currently in Oregon and we have already extended his stay and Mina should be released from shelter beginning of next week .
This is the part of rescue that sucks and is so heartbreaking . Begging and pleading for someone to give our dogs a chance . No they are not on euthanasia list but they came from it and still deserves offers of people willing to help.
The constant stress off having to fundraise boarding costs can be so much better put to use by getting them into a home . If we cannot find placement we will need to extend brownie another week and make a whole training plan for Mina which can be altogether around $3500 .
Please donate and share our post for Brownie And Mina

Temp foster needed 🚨
Our guy is feeling a little under the weather and just needs a quiet place to land for a few days while his meds kick in 🤍
Nothing major—just some extra TLC, a comfy spot, away from other pets, and a human to keep him company while he rests.
Can you open your home short-term? We’ll support you every step of the way.

Our volunteers went to visit adoptable Penelope yesterday at the boarding facility. This sweet 1 year old girl is trying SO hard to make the best of a really crummy situation. 🥺
Through it all? Tail wagging. Asking for pets. Leaning in for love like she hasn’t spent weeks being overlooked. 💔
And yet—through absolutely no fault of her own—Penelope is still stuck in boarding. Not because she isn’t wonderful (she is!) Not because she isn’t ready (she is!) But because we haven’t been able to find that unicorn: a pet-free, kid-free foster home willing to give a medium-sized pup a temporary place to land.
Let’s be very clear: this is not okay. 🙅♀️
Penelope is spending nearly 24 hours a day in a cement kennel. 😭 No cozy bed. No toys. No enrichment. No couch snuggles. No decompression. Just waiting. And waiting. And waiting some more.
We need to get this girl OUT. Like, yesterday. We cannot pull her from boarding without a committed foster—or better yet, adopter!—ready to step up.
All we are asking for is someone who can host her for a minimum of 3 weeks to give her the chance to finally exhale, settle in, and show everyone the amazing dog we know she is. 🙏
PLEASE share her post, tag your friends and family, drop a comment to tell Penelope what a good girl she is! We need all hands on deck.
