People don’t usually leave Las Vegas because they hated it. They leave because they weren’t fully prepared for what life here would actually feel like. And honestly… the comments on my posts prove it. One person said: “It’s 120° every day. I could never live there.” Another said: “There’s no jobs unless you know someone.” And then someone else said: “Vegas is basically California prices now.” But then I’ll get messages like: “We moved here from California and love it here, wish we did it sooner.” Same city. Completely different experiences. Here’s what I’ve learned after living in Las Vegas for 25+ years… People don’t regret Vegas. They regret how they chose it. When someone moves here and leaves a year or two later, it’s almost always one of these four things: 1️⃣ They picked the wrong area. Summerlin, Henderson, Southwest, North Las Vegas, East Vegas, and the Northwest all feel completely different. Some are newer, some are more established, some are closer to everything. Where you land matters more than people realize. 2️⃣ They underestimated the heat. Yes—June through August is intense. But it’s not 12 months of that. You adjust your schedule, and the other 9 months are why people stay. 3️⃣ They never really built a life here. No go-to gym. No favorite coffee spot. No routine outside the Strip. And that’s the mistake…locals don’t live on the Strip. 4️⃣ They moved for the house, not the lifestyle. You might get more space here… But if your commute, routine, and day-to-day don’t fit your life, it won’t feel right. And that’s exactly why I care so much about where my clients land. Not just what house they buy… but what kind of life they’re actually stepping into here in Las Vegas. Because when the lifestyle fits… people don’t leave.
