I don’t usually like bronzing drops because they’re SO intense. The fact that this is mixed with moisturizer is genius! 👏

Shall We Separate the Art from the Artist? ⚖️
Hello my name is Bia and I have a bone to pick with Patrick Ta the Person because claiming that you invented a technique that has been recently popularized by an extremely talented and beloved Black Woman in the beauty industry is never going to sit well with me. This whole ordeal could've been avoided if we just didn't try to claim a technique as their own, but alas here we are.
But this brings the philosophical question of whether we can or should appreciate a piece of creative work, in this case the Liquid Transition Brightening Blush ($34), and the Transition Blurring Blush Duo ($30), if the person who created it has done something unethical or holds harmful beliefs. I'm not here to answer that question for you, and tbh I don't know if I have an answer. But what I do know is that the "Shy at First" shade in both of these products looked like they would be exceptional on my fair skin.
These are nothing like I expected, I fear the Transition Blurring Blush Duo has zero pigment, and is very misleading to call it a blush. I now understand why there are no arm swatches to promote the product. It is a setting powder in my opinion, and albeit a very blurring and flattering one. But the marketing I think definitely needs an overhaul to set the proper expectations with this product. And as for the Liquid Transition Brightening Blush, on me it darkens my under eyes, so mixing it with my concealer is not brightening at all. So once again, I cannot use the product as advertised, but it works beautifully as a traditional liquid blush.
Overall I think this debacle with this launch is a masterclass in what not to do when marketing your product. Marketing shapes our perception of a product, and while the idea of a system that makes your blush application more seamless and professional from a celebrity makeup artist known for their blush forward looks seems enticing at first, it didn't land because consumers who are willing to spend $104+ on a blush application system, are savvy and tuned into the beauty industry and its heavy hitters like @paintedbyesther ✨

A hot new BOMBSHELL 🩷
In all seriousness, this is the kind of lippie I envision on someone with bombshell energy; It's pigmented, it's fruity, it's juicy, and it had impact. This is the new Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Lip Oil Stick that just launched at Sephora TODAY.
I'm not typically a statement lip kind of girl, but if I was going to wear one, this would be it. Once applied to the lips, it feels like a lightweight lip balm, but with one swipe pigment and the color doesn't cling unevenly or look patchy at all. It's an incredibly smooth application. The shine is definitely not as much as a gloss, but I think that's nice for a little variety in my lip wardrobe, and I don't have to compromise hydration with this one as a dry lips girlie. Also I must note that if you opt for taping this product on the lips instead of swiping, you can get a sheerer effect and a more popsicle lip look which is more my thing.
Overall, this formula is so nice, it truly has me reconsidering trying a statement lip more often. And this shade, "Dream", is a beautiful cool toned shade that is really flattering on my complexion. But I'm really curious about the shade "Wish", as it seems to be a coral counterpart that might look really lively on the lips.
What do you think of this launch? 👀🩷
