Every year in Tennessee, 900+ young adults age out of foster care at 18 — often without family, support, or a place to go. Many face homelessness, trafficking, or trying to survive completely on their own.
At The Bridge House, we provide housing, mentorship, job support, and community so young adults aging out of foster care can step into independence with hope.
Volunteer. Provide a meal. Mentor. Give.
Be part of helping a young adult launch into a better future.

Hear from our incredible Resource Center Manager, Claudia, about what our move to a bigger space means to her! 🩵
After more than 20 years in and out of homelessness, Jackie finally has a place to call home.
With support from @NewNarrativePDX and a rent assistance voucher, she found the stability she needed to rebuild her health and strengthen her connections with friends and family.
Today, Jackie and her beloved dog are thriving in their Forest Grove apartment. She knows her neighbors and feels a sense of belonging she once thought was out of reach.
Jackie pays her rent with help from a Regional Long-Term Rent Assistance (RLRA) voucher, which is funded through the Metro supportive housing services measure. In Washington County, more than 1,900 households have been housed with RLRA vouchers since 2020.
At Rose Brooks Center, survivors in our Housing Program are stepping into permanent, stable housing and rebuilding their lives. In this video, our Housing System Coordinator, Sean, shares what your support means for the families we serve.
We’re so grateful for the incredible generosity we’ve already seen, and all of the items that have arrived at our shelter, but there’s still time to get involved, and the need remains great.
This March, you can help create a Home Safe Home.
Donate essential home goods and/or fund one “Home Safe Home” kit with every $35 donation via the link in our bio.
Thank you for helping us welcome survivors "Home Safe Home" this spring.
Not every child in foster care needs someone to “fix” them.
They need someone to see them, value them, and remind them they matter.
At The Bridge House, we believe radical hospitality can change a life. A safe place, consistent support, and people who care can make all the difference.
Today, we’re grateful for every person who gives, serves, prays, and stands in the gap for children and young adults in foster care.
Because hope grows when people show up. 💙

Young people who leave foster care without permanent families face steep odds, with state and national data showing they are at much higher risk of homelessness, unemployment, and involvement in the criminal justice system. Some reports estimate nearly a third or more will experience homelessness by their mid-20s.
In recent years, Idaho has expanded extended foster care services up to age 23, giving young adults access to case management, housing support, education assistance, and job training. Programs such as supervised independent living and the Independent Living Program are intended to help with life skills, employment, and stability.
Advocates say expanded policy and services are important, but not enough on their own.
"A successful transition for aging out youth requires a community of supporters, mentors, and friends who will assist these young people in securing safe and stable housing, transportation, further education, finding employment, and learning life skills of building a healthier relationship," one advocate said.
Nonprofits across the Treasure Valley have stepped in with mentorship, job connections, and even basic household furniture for young people starting from scratch. The focus, advocates say, is not just helping young adults get by, but creating stability and a sense of belonging.
"All aging-out youth should have the opportunity to transition into a society that understands their adversity and supports them in becoming loving adults," an advocate said.
Aging Out Awareness Month is aimed at building more than programs, with supporters emphasizing the need for relationships, housing options, and employers willing to give former foster youth a chance before the next group ages out without a safety net.
