"It's absolutely wrong to have a chimpanzee as a pet – or any of the primates, for that matter." We can't be more clear than Dr. Jane. Chimpanzees are not here for our entertainment. They are not here to be our pets. They are wild animals, and they deserve to be treated as such. Images and content that suggest otherwise are dangerous and irresponsible. That kind of content can increase demand for the illegal wildlife trade, which poses an enormous threat to chimpanzees and other great apes. And as Dr. Jane said here: "Why should we sell our closest living relatives as a pet? It's not a pet." How can you help? When you see photos and videos that show chimpanzees in unnatural settings or engaging in unnatural behaviours, even when they look AI-generated, report the content – but do not engage with the post. Engaging can make the post more popular. Let's keep working together to put an end to this problem – for good. Each of us has an important role to play here, just as Dr. Jane always said. 🌿 World Wildlife Day - 3rd March 2026 🌿 Today, on World Wildlife Day, we are reminded of the importance of protecting our precious indigenous animals and keeping wildlife in the wild, where they belong. Our wildlife plays a vital role in maintaining healthy ecosystems and preserving the natural beauty of Trinidad and Tobago. Protecting them ensures that future generations will experience our animals not in zoos or cages, but thriving in their natural habitats. Every action counts! Say no to illegal wildlife trade, protect natural spaces, and report wildlife cruelty. Together, we can safeguard the incredible species that call our islands home. 🐾 Keep Wildlife Wild. Protect What’s Natural. 🌎💚 Video produced by RemBunction for Animal Welfare Network (AWN) and the TTSPCA - Copyright ©️ #worldwildlfeday @animalwelfarenetworktt @ecwc_tt

It’s their planet too 🐾🌏 On #WorldWildlifeDay, we mark a powerful milestone — the 50th anniversary of CITES, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora 🦏🐘🌿 This treaty has been a cornerstone in regulating the global trade of endangered species and protecting our planet’s most vulnerable creatures 🌎🛑🐅 Despite the progress, the fight is far from over ⚠️ The 2024 Living Planet Report shows a heartbreaking 73% decline in the populations of birds 🐦, amphibians 🐸, mammals 🐼, fish 🐟, and reptiles 🐍 since 1970 📉💔 This reality is a stark reminder of how much work still lies ahead ⏳ World Wildlife Day is about connecting people with the natural world 🌳💚 and inspiring learning and action for animals and plants beyond just one day 📚🌺 We must continue to protect wildlife 🛡️, advocate for stronger action 📢, and recognize that their survival is intertwined with our own 🤝🌍💞 #fyp #explorepage #dataanalytics #suhaniinsights
