This was not just a conference. This was a signal. A room filled with speakers, founders, artists, policymakers, performers, builders, and believers, all saying the same thing in different ways: the North is creating, and Nigeria should be paying attention. From powerful conversations about the future of the creative economy to honest reflections about the realities we face, NCC became a mirror of where we are and a declaration of where we are going. SparkLab convened this vision independently, driven by belief, commitment, and responsibility to the ecosystem. Government leaders showed up. Industry voices showed up. Creatives showed up. And together, something shifted. This movement is about contribution. About structure. About ownership of our narrative. Nigeria should expect more from the North. And the North should expect more from itself. The renaissance is not a slogan. It is work. It is ambition. It was my absolute privilege to co-host alongside Mr. Seun Akinola of Splash FM @seunomoakinola at GenSpark 2026: Entrepreneurs' Empowerment Summit & Ibadan Business Exhibition, @genspark2026 powered by GleanForte Academy and convened by Pharm. Abiodun Ajibade, FPSB. The summit was themed: Local Production as a Backbone for Thriving Economies: Get Involved. GenSpark2026 focused on capacity development and skill enhancement for entrepreneurs; an initiative expected to boost job creation and improve living standards in Nigeria. The summit featured masterclasses, business clinics, and mentorship sessions with industry leaders, covering key areas such as production, leadership, regulatory compliance, and access to grants. The event hosted a distinguished lineup of dignitaries, including: * Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi Olabode, Honourable Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Commerce, Investment and Cooperative, Oyo State, who served as the Special Guest of Honour. * Dr. Adebowale O. Akande, Executive Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Agribusiness & Intergovernmental Relations and Director-General, Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency, who delivered the keynote address. * Otunba Oyedapo Idowu Richard, Chairman, MarchForte Courtyard Hotel & Suites, Agodi, Ibadan, who chaired the Opening Ceremony. The event also welcomed numerous representatives from governmental and non-governmental agencies. It was truly a remarkable moment! A big thank you to the convener.
