런던 기반 주얼리 브랜드 OCTI(@_octi)는 조각적 접근으로 제작된 주얼리를 퍼포먼스 형식의 프레젠테이션으로 확장해 선보인다. Central Saint Martins에서 조각을 공부한 뒤 디자인으로 영역을 확장한 디자이너가 이끄는 브랜드로, 대부분의 작업은 왁스로 형태를 직접 조각한 뒤 금속으로 캐스팅하는 방식으로 제작된다. 이러한 제작 과정은 주얼리를 단순한 장식이 아닌 착용 가능한 조각으로 바라보는 태도와 연결된다. 최근 컬렉션 프레젠테이션에서는 전통적인 런웨이 대신 퍼포먼스를 중심에 두었다. 댄서들은 walking, glitching, unison, contact 등의 움직임 챕터를 따라 서로 연결되고 분리되며 움직였고, 이 동작들은 주얼리 형태의 구조와 패턴을 신체의 움직임으로 번역하는 방식으로 구성됐다. OCTI의 주얼리는 자연에서 발견되는 구조와 패턴, 광물의 단면, 암석의 질감, 반복되는 자연 형태에서 영감을 받는다. 프레젠테이션에서는 이러한 형태가 단순히 몸 위에 놓인 오브제가 아니라 움직임 속에서 변화하는 구조처럼 보이도록 연출된다. 결과적으로 주얼리는 제품을 보여주는 대상이 아니라, 몸과 공간 사이에서 작동하는 하나의 조형 요소로 제시된다.
