What started as a typical appointment day turned into a nightmare within seconds one year ago. Little did we know in the moment, God used that moment to give her back a quality of life we had so desperately been fighting for. I remember, in the moment, silently asking God how much more? How much more can she handle, hanging the balance of life and death? I had no clue God was orchestrating a huge blessing from this near loss. And truthfully, I don’t know how we would’ve gotten through this without my dear friend Kim. She stayed on the phone with me while I FLEW back home because Dave was with her. She stayed on the phone while Hailey sobbed, thinking she may not see her sister again. Then after a full shift at the hospital, she came to the local hospital to sit with me until we transported Alexa to Hopkins. The trauma of that day won’t ever leave me. My heart is racing just remembering it. I’m thanking God for the pain we went through to get us to where we are. We wouldn’t be here without it ❤️‍🩹 #Rare #Genetics #CDG #PIGN #MCAHS1 Choking, friendship, God, blessings
Hopkins Elementary School held a celebration for its recent academic achievements today (Nov. 22). Richland One Superintendent Dr. Craig Witherspoon and Principal Audrey White-Garner gave remarks during the celebration. Teachers, as well as @lrhsdhornets' marching band and cheerleading team, participated in a parade outside the school. Hopkins Elementary received an "Excellent" rating on its 2023-2024 South Carolina Report Card and was named a Visible Learning+ Certified School over the summer, becoming the first Richland One school and the first school in South Carolina to earn the distinction. #TeamOne #OneTeam
OUR INTRODUCTION: diagnosis & social media Victor is an 18 year old with developmental disabilities, autism, and a rare genetic disorder called Pitt Hopkins Syndrome. Pitt Hopkins affects one in 34 to 41 thousand births and it is classified as a rare disease. I also want you to know that Victor has a lot more to him than his medical diagnoses! He is a star soccer player, a ladies man at school, and now a disability advocate for other people with developmental disabilities. My name is Francesca and I’m a senior at Princeton University majoring in Psychology. I love to dance, do arts and crafts, and to be an advocate for reproductive justice and disability justice. I am also a caregiver, and that is perhaps what I’m most proud of. We started this page because we wished we had older siblings like us to look up to as kids. And we would love to have you join us, whether you are a part of a rare or special family or not. To support us and spread our message, tap the SHARE button to send this to others in your community. - When applying to Johns Hopkins, one student responded to an essay question asking what he would do with $100 by saying he would make homeless people fight over burgers - When applying to Princeton, one kid accidentally wrote that his grandfather would take him “peasant” hunting instead of “pheasant” hunting - One MIT applicant sent in a bad-smelling shoe with his application so he would “already have his foot in the door” #highschooljunior #ivyleague #applyingtocollege #collegeaps #highschoolsophmore #collegeadmissions #highschool #collegeadvice #collegeprep #collegeapplications #admissions #collegetips #collegeready #acceptancerate #universityadmissions #sat #topuniversities #collegeapp #collegeacceptance #ivyday #resumetips #highschoolintern #highschoolinternship #internship #highschoolstudent

One of the best scenes in Westworld (Spoiler Alert in the commentary below) Ford, played by Anthony Hopkins is the creator. His goal is to create consciousness by make his AI creatures self conscious. Central to the way he does it is the Bicameral Mind: a theory from evolutionary psychology suggesting that ancient man thought his inner voice to be the voice of the gods. In order to achieve his purpose, Ford –the creator– had to die for his creatures. Only through this death he truly became the idea and their inner voice. But that's not the final stage of self-consciousness. The inner voice 'as' Ford must also die. The voice of 'god' must become synonymous with the inner voice of the individual; A point where the infinite and the finite touch.. And then what? What happens when that 'god' disappears? The individual is alone, condemned to freedom, left behind with the promise of the beyond... of eternity: "The impossible line where the waves conspire, but they return. A place maybe you and I will meet again." Follow ➡️ @themindhubofficial • #westworld #westworldhbo #anthonyhopkins #psychology #deepthoughts #thoughtoftheday #thoughtprovoking
