Tosca - tonight at the Bayerische Staatsoper (@bayerischestaatsoper) The last time I performed Cavaradossi’s aria “ E lucevan le stelle” was at the Arena di Verona, about a month ago…tonight’s performance at the Bayerische Staatsoper will be in quite a different atmosphere, but this aria is always very moving no matter the context. I look forward to performing in my hometown opposite Eleonora Buratto (@eleonora_buratto) in the title role and Ludovic Tézier (@ludovictezier) as the villan Scarpia. You can watch the live stream of our Kornél Mundruczó production on the Bayerische Staatsoper’s website on the 27th, as part of “Oper für Alley! // Tosca - heute Abend in der Bayerischen Staatsoper Das letzte Mal habe ich Cavaradossis Arie “E lucevan le stelle” vor etwa einem Monat in der Arena di Verona gesungen... Die heutige Aufführung in der Bayerischen Staatsoper wird in einer ganz anderen Atmosphäre stattfinden, aber diese Arie ist immer sehr bewegend, egal in welchem Kontext. Ich freue mich darauf, in meiner Heimatstadt neben Eleonora Buratto in der Titelrolle und Ludovic Tézier als Bösewicht Scarpia aufzutreten. Die Aufführung am 27. Juli (Inszenierung: Kornél Mundruczó) wird im Rahmen von „Oper für alle“ auf der Website der Bayerischen Staatsoper per Livestream übertragen. 🎞️: RAI

I admire the way that you make culture a part of your way of life, and I am touched by the love and warm welcome I have received in France since making my European debut in Bordeaux @operadebordeaux. 🥰🥰🥰 Last night was no exception - thanks for the cheers I will never forget! Fun fact: I definitely didn’t “dorma” after singing this late last night…😂 on too much of an opera high! I have been singing Calaf’s famous aria, “Nessun dorma”, for years in concert, and recently debut the full role in concert. In December, I am looking forward to singing the role in a new staged production by Claus Guth - opposite Asmik Grigorian in the title role - at the Wiener Staatsoper (@wienerstaatsoper).
