Tucked in between the Northern Oregon beach towns of Seaside and Cannon Beach is beautiful Ecola State Park, and a 2.5-mile hike (roundtrip) will take you to one of the prettiest secluded beaches along the entire coast.
Another #statepark to add to your bucket list.

Places to see along the Oregon coast
📍 Cannon Beach, Oregon — near Ecola State Park
Some places don’t feel real until you’re standing there. Cannon Beach is one of them.
Towering sea stacks rise straight out of the Pacific, with giant rocks dominating the horizon like something from another world. If you head just north into Ecola State Park, the coastline opens up even more — rugged cliffs, forested trails, and panoramic views that make every step feel cinematic.
The hike along the bluffs here is unreal. One moment you’re walking through towering coastal forest, the next you’re looking down at miles of untouched shoreline and crashing waves below. On clear days you can even spot whales offshore.
This is the kind of place where you slow down, breathe in the ocean air, and realize why the Oregon Coast is legendary.
If you’re ever in the Pacific Northwest, this one belongs on your list.

Just pull over. Trust me.
Cape Lookout State Park was one of those stops that didn’t need a plan or a long hike, just a quick pause, some fresh coastal air, and a view that instantly made us slow down.
The Oregon coast has no shortage of dramatic viewpoints, but this one is an easy reminder that sometimes the best moments happen when you stop for “just a minute” and end up staying longer than you meant to.

The trail starts in the forest and slowly climbs until it opens up to this huge grassy cliff overlooking the ocean! When you reach the top, it seriously feels like you’re standing on the edge of the world 🌎
It’s not a super long hike, and the view at the end makes the whole thing worth it😏
