I’m so excited to share this giveaway, because this is probably my favourite bakery in the east end, especially for the holidays: Black Walnut Bakery 🧁 This little bakery started as a husband & wife bakery, in the cutest yellow home. They opened up shop in 2015, and this little buslting bakery serves up some delicious goodies year-round. I always make sure to stop in before the holidays to grab my Christmas meat pie, and some other treats for Bill. Wow! Ottawa’s amazing, brand new bakery & café!
Onua Bakery is serving up classic French bakery goods like baguettes, with West African bakery essentials like puff puffs and tea breads. More than that they’ve got New Orleans style beignets ($7.99/4 pieces), innovative pastries like deep fried filled croissants (approx $6), and beautiful sourdoughs.
I had the most perfect caramel latte ($6.25) and fluffy egg and candied bacon breakfast sandwich ($11) I’ve had in a long time. This spot is some kind of heaven. Coffee lovers you should know that behind the coffee here is an owner who even went to coffee school!
This place is such a vibe (Sza was playing when I went the second time 🥹), the staff were all so friendly and welcoming and I’m so happy to welcome it to Ottawa after seeing the sign up downtown Rideau last winter and waiting for its opening.
