Wildlife biologist and wilderness guide @bradjosephsphotos captured an intense battle between two Grizzly bears in Katmai National Park and Preserve. This video shows just how courageous a female grizzly bear can be when protecting her young. According to Josephs, the female and her cubs were on high alert before the male intruder made his move. Would you take this Arctic polar plunge? For me the cold is like the dark of the depths of the sea…we cannot perceive all that lives within it until we are willing to explore it. Whether cold plunging or facing the coldest places on Earth, I have discovered new depths of myself as the temperature dials drop. Located in Arctic waters of Longyearbyen, Svalbard, the SvalBad is a wood burning, floating sauna. The sauna is a result of circular economy in practice with the reuse of old materials from demolished buildings in Longyearbyen and Svea. This provides a combination of well-being in historical surroundings. Also in Svalbard, polar bears outnumber people 3 to 1, which takes polar plunging to a whole new level in shared waters with these bears. #SeekBeyondTheSummit #mountainplanet #exploremore #mountainlife #outsidemagazine #bigthingscoming #adventuretravel #northpolecrossing #northpole #svalbard #skiexpedition #arcticcircle #norway #menshealth #cold #coldplunge #icebath #icebaths #icebathing #sauna #svalbad

Hi, I’m Emily! I’m the face behind AtHomeintheDesert! I started posting daily on this page 4.5 year ago to document our home build. I never would have guessed doing so would turn into a “job” and led me to find this incredible community on this app! These days I mostly use this page as a design diary of our home, while also documenting our life in the desert - including our incredible sunsets, of course! Aside from content creation I also do interior decorating here in Tucson, I own a STR property: @blackcabininthepines , and I’m the director of a 501c3 organization. I’m also excited to share that starting this weekend (March 1) I will be a merchant at @midtownmm where you can find curated furniture and home decor from me! And starting the following month (April 1) you can also find me as a contributor to @catalinafoothillslifestyle magazine! Outside of work, my hobbies mostly include travel, fitness, and spending time with our three dogs. I love putting on a podcast and giving the house a nice little rearrangement, and I never met a glass of wine I didn’t like! 🤗 It’s nice to meet you all! I’d love if you could share something about yourselves in the comments so we can all get to know each other! 🖤🖤🖤
this just in: gay people can now win awards. thank you all so much for the support and thank you @outsidemagazine for the honor. ❤️
Earlier this fall, Jon Anderson (trail name Pa’at) completed the Pacific Crest Trail. “That song I sang was the pent-up emotion in me for my journey, but it was also the song for everybody else [who walked],” Jon told Outside Magazine from his home near Corvallis, Oregon. “They weren’t as old as me, most of them, or none of them, but it was hard for them, too.” Jon says that his friends and family were “a little concerned” when he announced 2021 that he was gearing up to walk the full length of the PCT. His wife, Flip, who is 69, was also part of his journey, but she had to bow out after completing 70 percent of the trail. Tap the link in our bio 🥾 to hear more about Jon’s incredible and inspirational journey across all 2650 miles of the PCT. 🎥: @humping_north (much gratitude for capturing this amazing moment) #hiking #pct #pacificcresttrail #thruhike #goodnews
Blissful moments from Washington 🌿
stop doomscrolling & go outside we all need that rn :’))
Wow’ed by these words in Outside Magazine from Arctic Hive guest, Kate Siber: “Over the course of a week, long slow dawns bled into long luxuriant dusks. Storm clouds lingered for days, swaddling the land in a moody dimness that made the forests and tundra appear soft-focus like a dream. Clock time began to feel less relevant without the familiar reference points of day.” Kate (@sibereye) was a guest during our Winter Solstice retreat last December at @arctichiveak. Her words couldn’t be more poignant as we’re diving, once again, into Polar Night here in the arctic in the coming weeks. The account she wrote in her essay captures this special time to a tee — and we cannot wait to share it with another group during Winter’s Womb 2022. We have a few spots left — link with retreat details and a link to the full article from @outsidemagazine are both in my profile 💕
