I’m often asked why the two bass drums. Here’s a throwback to soundcheck at PASIC 2019 where I’m checking the 20” and the 26” inch bass drums. I use the 26” bass drum for a bigger sound and utilize it much like a guitar player uses an overdrive pedal. Can you hear the difference? Use headphones 👍🏼

Beat 199 of my #DrumBeatProject 9.19.23 w/notations. This just came out in the midst of dusting off a solo piece that I plan on revisiting for @percussivearts PASIC in a couple of weeks. Using my @meinlpercussion hand drum as the ride here for a cool & different sound/vibe (& it’s a lot of fun to play w/stx). The BD & HH (w/lots of @upcycledpercussion @creative_percussion & Meinl flare) are the anchors. LH does the rhythm/melody around the drums. And the @zildjiancompany stack is the exclamation point of the beat.
