If you work full-time, PTO is limited… which is why expensive flights can make travel feel like a once-a-year thing. Once we learned how to use credit card points for flights, it completely changed how we plan trips. Instead of spending $800–$1,200 on flights, we’re often able to book them using points and just pay the taxes and fees. That’s how we’ve been able to take more trips while still working full-time. I put together a free Beginner Points & Miles Guide that explains the system we use to earn and redeem points for travel. Comment GUIDE and I’ll send you the link. #pointsmiles #travelrewards #travelforless #creditcardpoints #ptoescape budgettravel
What people don’t realize about travel… it’s not about spending more money, it’s about using what you already spend OR have budgeted for but smarter. Please do not excess buy stuff or go into debt for the sake of just earning points or miles. When I started learning how to use points and miles, nothing about my lifestyle changed. I just became more intentional with where my money was going and how I’m paying my expenses. The key is simple (but most people skip this part): 👉 Only use it if you’re already spending responsibly 👉 If you can afford to pay something in cash 👉 Always pay your balance in full 👉 Let your normal life fund your travel We shouldn’t be going into debt to feel “luxury.” There’s still that element of being wise & smart about this strategy. It’s about understanding a system most people ignore or weren’t aware of and using it to your advantage. Here’s the deal, you are literally wasting money on flights if you’re paying in cash. Two years ago, I started using points to book airfare and have saved over $40,000 in travel expenses. New to award travel? This means: leveraging points to pay for things like flights and hotels. Points can be earned through credit cards, sign-up offers, and online shopping portals. No extra spending needed. Just from the money you’re already spending on things like groceries and rent. Imagine what an extra $2,000 in your pocket could do towards planning your next vacation. Or even $1,000. If you could save $1,000-$2,000 on your next vacation, would you? I’ve always loved to travel, but there were many seasons in my life when traveling felt completely out of budget. Or I’d spend months scouring the internet waiting for a good flight deal to come along. If I had known about award travel and using points to book flights sooner, I would have been able to save so much money and travel much more frequently. Now, my husband and I travel all over the world for a fraction of the cost. In 2025 alone, we saved over $20,000 on travel expenses. Flying all over the world using points. Flights to Indonesia, Thailand, Italy, the Netherlands, and England. All paid for in points. Think of points like the currency of the travel world. I teach you how to redeem your credit card points at their maximum value so you’re not missing out on thousands of $$$. Because yes, your points are worth MUCH MORE than your bank travel portal says they are. ✈️✈️Comment WHEELS UP to learn the exact strategies we’ve used to save thousands in travel costs.

If I were starting out in the points and miles game today, I would make a few adjustments to my strategy: 1) I played it safe and applied for just 1 credit card when I started a few years ago, just to see whether this whole points and miles currency worked. So I waited several months before applying for my next credit card. In the process, I missed out on accumulating additional points for things like groceries and eating out. I like to keep things simple so I use the Capital One Venture X and Savor combo for most of my daily expenses. There are other cards with better multipliers, but since I don't want to pay more for annual fees, I'm sticking to this duo. 2) I would have referred my husband for the same card or the lower annual fee version of the card so that we could have earned an additional sign up bonus. 3) Done more practice searches on different airline websites, so that I could get faster at navigating and searching for flight deals. Also, I would have kept my expectations lower, so that I felt less frustrated with the process. This is why I tell my circle of people to realistically plan for 1-2 years minimally before expecting to find a deal that works for your travel plans (this doesn't apply if you are a full-time traveler or frequent flyer). ❤️Like, save, share, or repost this if you found it helpful. ‼️Important: Use credit cards ONLY if you can pay off your balance in full every month. Do not use a credit card if you cannot manage your credit card bill; otherwise, this approach will cost you more money. #TravelTips #TravelInspiration #WorldTraveler #TravelWisdom #TravelJournal | Travel diaries | Travel creator | Solo travel | Couple travel | Travel tips | Mindful travel |

My money & points rules 👇🏼 1. Flights in cash (when points exist) Small “cheap” flights add up fast. If I can use points or miles, I do. 💡 TIP: Save cash for experiences, use points for transportation/hotels. 2. “Good deals” that don’t align with my goals A deal isn’t a deal if it distracts from what I actually want (travel, freedom, flexibility). 💡 TIP: Before buying, ask: does this get me closer to my next trip? 3. Everyday spending has to earn me points or miles. Earn points = earning me flights or hotels. 💡 TIP: Route your normal expenses through the right cards like groceries, dining, travel, gas. 4. “Treat yourself” purchases that don’t create memories Stuff fades. Experiences don’t. 💡 TIP: Redirect splurge money toward trips, not things. 5. Annual fees without strategy Paying a fee only makes sense if I’m getting more value back. 💡 TIP: Track your perks like free nights, credits, lounge access and actually use them. The goal isn’t to spend less for travel. It’s to spend smarter to accumulate points to take free trips. Join me and let’s grow our points together ✈️
This might be an unpopular opinion but my husband and I can afford to travel so much using points because we maximize earning and using them with little tricks like this. If he’s a user on my cc he isn’t eligible to earn a bonus offer if he ever wants to open that card himself. Which is a huge loss. Do we have the same credit card currently? No. While we ever open up the same cards? Um hello when Chase offers 125,000 bonus points for new card holders you bet I’ll be getting my own. I could take two trips to Europe with those points! What’s your favorite credit card provider? 👀 Earning points is step 1 and transferring them is where the magic happens ✨ 💳 Transfer partners (some examples): Chase → United, Hyatt (my fav), Southwest Amex → Delta, Air France/KLM Capital One → Air Canada, British Airways Citi → Qatar, Turkish, American Bilt → Hyatt, Atmos, United Also don’t sleep on airline alliances! Cuz that’s where you can find some good deals :) here are the three main ones wit some examples • Star Alliance (United, Air Canada, Singapore) • oneworld (American, British Airways, Qatar) • SkyTeam (Delta, Air France, KLM) Meaning you can book one airline with another airline’s points 🤯 I booked Starlux with Atmos Rewards which you can transfer from Bilt! Same points → better flights → less cash 💅 Save this for your next trip ✈️ #creditcards #travel #personalfinance

✈️ Travel Fund – Episode 2: How I Plan My Travel Fund Travel isn’t expensive. Unplanned travel is. One thing that changed how I travel every year is creating a dedicated travel fund. Instead of stressing about money before a trip, I build it slowly throughout the year. Here’s my simple system 👇 💰 Save 5–10% of your income for travel • If travel is a big priority → save 10% • If you travel every 2–3 months → 5% monthly works great too 🏦 Keep that money in a High-Yield Savings Account (HYSA) so it grows while you plan your trips. I personally use Marcus by Goldman Sachs, but other great HYSA options include: • Ally Bank • SoFi • Capital One 360 Performance Savings • Discover Online Savings These accounts typically earn much higher interest than regular savings accounts, so your travel fund grows while you plan your next destination. 💳 I also stack credit card rewards + travel deals 👀 And sometimes check Costco Travel for bundled vacation packages that can save a lot. This is how I comfortably plan 2–3 trips a year without guilt. If you want to learn: • How I build my travel fund faster • Which credit cards I use for travel points • How I stack rewards + deals • My travel fund calculator 👇 Comment “TRAVEL” and I’ll send it to you. 🎥 Next: I’m going LIVE and actually booking my next trip with you so you can see exactly how I plan travel in real time. #travelfund #travelplanning #travelhacks #moneytips financialwellness womenwhotravel travelcreator budgettravel travelpoints intentionalspending
