Last practical exam today✨ Life didn’t end when I was asked to give Health education in Yoruba language😭🫢 DAY 92/100
Day 62 of 365 days. My PhD journey (pt 1) Spend the day with me: University of Ibadan PhD admission clearance. Things to know should you consider doing your PhD in Ui. 1) PhD form is always available throughout the session. Unlike masters where is a specific resumption time. 2) Department conducts interviews before you are given admission after application. This can vary per department. But we did Interviews, to be sure of our commitment. 3) If you are looking to get hostels, the earlier the better. Hostels like Adetowun Ogunseye (women only), Abusalam (mix) and Tafawa balawa (mix) Cater to especially PhD students. Tafawa balewa have apartment setting for your family to visit if you are married. In fact you are expected to be. 4) For my department PhD is actually 3 years. Why a lot can happen and you can extend, we are encouraged to do everything we want to do in that 3 years and go to give opportunities to other people. 5)People including your lectures will respect you, but please be respectful as well. If you have other questions ask in the comments section and I will make sure to answer. Where is Africas professors, where is Urhobo professors . @urhobohouse_ @urhoboelites I only know around English professors , Why isn’t our language inclusive in Nigeria’s working ethics. In the Europe, Asian, you find professionals, medical doctors , bankers and even teacher without basic English knowledge. Why is ours different ? Today on EGGQUOTES.

Day 75 of 365: My PhD Journey (pt 2) PhD induction at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan and they welcomed us with live indigenous music. Truly built different. We had legendary performances from Alhaji Musiliu Haruna Ishola (Apàlà) and Alhaji Abideen Yussuf Olatunji (Sákárà) during the Graduate Students’ Welcome Day held in honour of the Distinguished Fellows at @ias_ibadan As someone who has been studying music for over 11 year, I honestly cannot imagine a better induction into a PhD program. Walking into a scholarly space where indigenous musical traditions are not just studied but performed live is something special. In this vlog, I used the live Apàlà performance as the main sound even though there were other beautiful musical performances as well. The atmosphere was just incredible. I’m documenting my entire first year of my PhD, the same way I documented my master’s journey — for memory, for reflection, and for history. Also, quick question: do you want to hear what the live Sákárà music sounds like?
