Rumi (1207–1273) was a Persian poet, philosopher, and Sufi mystic whose writings about love, spirituality, and the human soul have inspired people around the world for centuries. His most famous work is the Masnavi.
A beautiful quote by Rumi about love:
“The minute I heard my first love story I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along.”
In these lines, the poet expresses a quiet, selfless farewell filled with pain and dignity. He assures the beloved that he will not make things harder for creating trouble, hiding his tears within his eyes. This reflects a love that chooses the other’s ease over its own suffering.
He then makes a gentle request: to let him remain for a little while at the doorstep, as if gathering himself. It shows his emotional state — overwhelmed, needing a moment before he can truly walk away. Through these soft yet deeply moving words, the poet beautifully captures the grace of leaving with love intact, even when the heart is breaking.
POET - Amjad Islam Amjad (1944-2023) was a renowned Pakistani Urdu poet, playwright, and columnist known for his deep, humanistic, and emotionally rich writing. Over his long career, he authored more than 40 books of poetry, criticism, and drama, and gained massive popularity for his iconic TV drama series “Waris”, which became a classic in Pakistan. He received numerous honors, including the Sitara-i-Imtiaz, Pride of Performance, and several national literary awards for his contribution to Urdu literature. His famous works include his poetry collections “Barzakh,” “Fishaar,” “Satvan Dar,” “Phir Yun Hua,” and his celebrated drama writings. Amjad’s writing is admired for its simplicity, philosophical depth, and the way it touches everyday human emotions, making him one of the most respected literary voices in modern Urdu literature.

Rumi was a Persian poet, Islamic scholar, and Sufi mystic whose work has had a lasting global influence. Born in Balkh, Rumi later settled in Konya (modern-day Turkey), where he became a respected teacher of Islamic law and theology.
A pivotal transformation in his life occurred after meeting the mystic Shams of Tabriz.
This encounter profoundly shifted Rumi’s perspective from formal scholarship to spiritual devotion and inner experience.
Following Shams’ disappearance, Rumi began composing deeply expressive poetry centered on love, unity, and the human connection with the divine.
His most famous work, the Masnavi, is considered one of the greatest masterpieces of spiritual literature.
Rumi’s teachings emphasize transcending ego, embracing divine love, and seeking truth beyond rigid identities.
Rumi’s legacy extends far beyond his time and culture.
Today, he is one of the most widely read poets in the world, valued for his universal message:
that love, self-awareness, and spiritual depth are at the core of human existence.

Original thought by ] @perceptiontheo Inspired by the belief and love poetry of Mahmoud Darwish. Still I gave Credit to Respective Poet.
–Repost with credit.
Mahmoud Darwish (1941–2008) was a Palestinian poet, author, and literary icon whose works became a powerful voice for identity, exile, love, memory, and the human longing for freedom. Born on March 13, 1941, in the village of al-Birwa in British Mandate Palestine, Darwish experienced displacement at an early age when his family fled during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. Their village was later destroyed, an event that deeply shaped his life and became a recurring theme throughout his poetry. After returning secretly to the region, his family lived under military rule in Israel, where Darwish grew up witnessing political conflict, loss, and cultural struggle. Despite these hardships, he developed a passion for literature and began writing poetry while still in school. His early poems expressed the pain of exile and the determination to preserve Palestinian identity, quickly attracting both admiration and controversy. His language was lyrical, philosophical, and deeply symbolic, often blending love, loss, hope, and reflection into timeless verses. Among his most celebrated collections are "Why Did You Leave the Horse Alone?", "Memory for Forgetfulness," "Unfortunately, It Was Paradise," "A River Dies of Thirst," and "Mural." His famous poem "Identity Card," beginning with the words "Write down! I am an Arab," became a symbol of resilience and cultural identity throughout the Arab world. Darwish's literary style evolved over the decades from direct political expression to more philosophical and existential themes, exploring mortality, memory, love.

I want you to be free,
and still choose to stay with me.”

In these lines, the poet expresses the agonizing paradox of being trapped in an unresolved love, calling their own heart foolish for remaining deeply attached to the wrong person. The poet laments being emotionally bound to a beloved who refuses to fully commit or claim them as their own, yet selfishly maintains enough of a hold to prevent them from moving on and finding love with anyone else. Ultimately, the verses capture a helpless state of emotional limbo, where the speaker is held captive by someone who neither accepts them completely nor sets them free.
POET_ Ahmad Faraz, born Syed Ahmad Shah, is celebrated as one of the most prominent and beloved modern Urdu poets of the 20th century, renowned for his ability to weave profound themes of romance, melancholy, and revolutionary defiance into accessible yet elegant verses. Throughout his illustrious career, his monumental contributions to literature earned him some of Pakistan’s highest civilian honors, including the Sitara-i-Imtiaz, Hilal-e-Imtiaz, and posthumously the Hilal-e-Pakistan. His legacy is immortalized through his highly acclaimed poetry collections—most notably Tanha Tanha, Dard-e-Ashub, Shab Khoon, and Janan Janan—which resonated deeply with the masses and established him as a powerful voice of both tender love and bold resistance across the subcontinent and the wider Urdu-speaking world.

In these beautifully selfless lines, the poet expresses a deep, unconditional love that transcends the pain of unrequited affection or separation. Even though the person they love does not belong to them ("Wo mera nahi bhi to kya hua"), the poet's happiness remains entirely tied to that person's joy. Upon hearing the news that their beloved has been blessed with their firstborn daughter, the poet feels an overwhelming sense of celebration, metaphorically stating that their own home has filled with toys. It highlights a rare, pure form of love where jealousy is replaced by profound empathy, and someone else's blessing becomes the poet's ultimate source of fulfillment.
POET- Tehzeeb Hafi (born December 5, 1989, as Tahzeeb-ul-Hassan) is a prominent contemporary Urdu poet from Taunsa Sharif, Pakistan, widely celebrated for revitalizing traditional Ghazal and Nazm formats for the younger generation. Transitioning from software engineering to a Master’s degree in Urdu literature, Hafi rapidly built his biggest achievement: capturing a massive global youth following via social media and becoming a staple at prestigious international Mushairas (poetry symposiums) due to his uniquely effortless, conversational, and deeply relatable romantic tone. His most famous works include acclaimed lines such as "Tera chup rahna mere zehn mein kya baith gaya" (Your silence has sat heavily in my mind), "Ye ek baat samajhne mein raat ho gai hai" (Night fell trying to understand this one thing), and his celebrated literary commentary on love and knowledge, "Tumhein husn par dastaras hai, mohabbat-vohabbat bada jaante ho" (You have command over beauty and know a lot about love).
