I couldn’t throw these little scraps away… so I stitched them together into one long snippet roll. Tiny pieces of paper, loose threads and forgotten fragments—all finding their way into something new. I think this might be my favourite kind of collage. What I love about building figures with paper collage is that the final image can never be fully planned. The process is intuitive, and almost always an unexpectedly rotated shape becomes the defining moment of the silhouette.

✨ Exhibition Open Now ✨ A Year in Collage is an exhibition which features all 365 mini collages from my 2025 daily project. It is open until the 25th of July. A huge thank you to @makesouthwest for giving me the opportunity to show this project and especially to @flo.pearson who helped hang the show, she’s the reason the frames are hung so nice and straight. 👏 Alongside the 365 collages (they’re not for sale as I decided it’d be like selling my diary 😅) there are also other collages (both mini and larger) that you can purchase, plus a selection of wood engravings and cards. Exclusive to the exhibition: ✂️ 2027 Daily Collage Calendar - featuring all 365 collages ✂️ 365 Daily Collages Archival A1 Print - printed on beautiful German etching paper ✂️ Daily Collage Advent Calendar ✂️ Paper Collage Packs - monotype printed papers so that you can get collaging yourself if you feel inspired by the show. The thing I tell every student when they do not know how to get started. Just start with something. Anything. The smallest beginning still counts. For me it is almost always writing or paper collage. A pen, a bit of glue, a few scraps of paper, no pressure, no plan. It gets my hands moving, and the inspiration just appears. It can be ugly. It can be super simple. It can result in nothing but it will definitely be better than not starting at all. So whatever you have available today… start there.
