Blue handmade paper with tapioca starch video process! 💙📜🪿 All my fellow paper lovers - here you go! INGREDIENTS: - 1 dark blue paper, - 1 light blue, - 1 magenta - 1 black paper - rest of papers should be white/light beige, can be old manuals etc. The end weight of your dry papers should be 200g. - 40-50g of tapioca starch - dried lavender flowers🪻 PROCESS: As usually, mix your papers into a smooth pulp and pit into your pulp tub. Cook your starch into a smooth transparent gel and mix into your pulp. MIX WELL! Add lavender and make papers! #handmadepaper #papermaking #papermaker #papercrafting #handpapermaking

Paper making process with starch inner sizing 📜 PROCESS: You will need: - approximately 200 grams of dry papers (I used half old IKEA manuals and half some old office paper, one watercolour paper and 6 coloured papers - half red, half blue) - 50 grams of potato starch (this will thicken the paper, it will be more water resistant and harder to tear) Tear the papers down to small pieces and let them soak in a water bowl for at least 2 hours. Mix with a blender until you get a smooth, unicoloured pulp. Pour this pulp into a basin or any tub you have that is big enough for your moulds. Here comes the trick. Mix your starch with a cup of cold water so it’s a smooth liquid, then add some more water (I usually use around 500-700ml in total) and cook slowly until the starch turns into an almost transparent gel. Stir a bit more and leave to cool down a bit. After couple of minutes, you can mix your starch gel into the pulp, BUT! - if the gel is too thick, add some warm water and mix, then immediately pour - male sure the gel is not too warm nor cold - you want around 40-50 degrees Celsius, it should be warm but safe to touch without burning (too cold gel won’t do much in the pulp as it will start to retrograde) Mix well and add enough water so your pulp is up to your preferences (thicker for thicker paper, thin for thinner paper). You can dry it in the moulds or transfer the paper - the usual techniques are both fine. I prefer sun - but the best result is done in temperatures over 35 degrees. #handmadepaper #papermaking #asmrvideos #handpapermaking #papercrafting
