Helen+Portfolio’s 4ever ♥️ We’ve been grinding the last two months building some monumental student work to show off to the biggest and best #fashioncolleges in the world. It’s so rewarding seeing my students take the skills I provide them, and evolve their work before my eyes! (And yours) thanks for watching and supporting y’all!!! And send the best out to my high school seniors in my fashion enrichment/college prep program on their career endeavors. #goat #fashiondesign #fashionportfolio #collegeportfolio #fashioninstituteoftechnology #parsons #centralsaintmartins
The #Parsons school of design has produced some of the most iconic fashion designers in history—think #MarcJacobs, #TomFord, #AnnaSui, #DonnaKaran, and more. We asked the #fashion school’s most recent graduating class what they envision the future of the industry to look like. Because, well, who better to ask than the artists who will be filling some very big (and well made) shoes. Which of their takes do you agree with most? [video by: @generationzizi]
Year after year, fashion schools’ student runway shows are praised for their displays of unlimited creativity. Attendees can expect to see a catwalk filled with conceptual and avant-garde designs, which can be a breath of fresh air amid increasingly commercialized fashion weeks. This spring, however, there’s been a subtle shift: While some students are still producing fashion-forward, conceptual pieces, there’s been a noticeable uptick of wearable ready-to-wear designs perfectly aligned with today’s trends. This was true at Parsons (@parsonsschoolofdesign) 2025 BFA Runway Show, “A Common Thread.” Though designers pulled from various inspirations, a common thread (pun intended) among collections was an adherence to current trends. The abundant sheer dresses, western wear, sporty cues and utility gear showed that the next generation of fashion talent is aware of today’s sartorial happenings and consumer preferences.
