The glue-up is only half the battle! Cleaning up these curly maple and purple heart frames today. I always use white pine cawls for clamping—since pine is softer than maple, any stuck pieces just break right off with a mallet without leaving a dent in the good wood. After cleaning the surface with my chisel, I mix up some fine sawdust with Titebond to make a custom wood filler that perfectly matches the frame. Seamless joints every time!
